Some pictures from Certification in Truro today. 16 Candidates went through challenging their proper designations - hardscape, softscape and maintenance. I assume everyone did well. At my paver walkway station, the 3 gentlemen went 3/3 - 100% pass rate.

Last week at the awards gala, we were acknowledged for our dedication to the Industry and simply giving back with heart and soul. It feels great to be honored with a genuine thank you. I've created 'Team Greater Good'. I love volunteering on the board and various committees. Great night had by all!

At Canada's first ever ICPI boot camp held in Truro, Nova Scotia at Dalhousie's Agriculture College Campus on behalf of our association. Happy to be representing Landscape New Brunswick on this pilot project. I spoke with many attendees who come from all over our Atlantic provinces and day 1 has been well received.

Spring is here and Scott's is open! Please take a moment to acknowledge their big win at the National awards. They were recognized by the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association for "Outstanding Retail Achievement for 2018" serving the Greater Fredericton area for over 80 years! We've been honored to work with them closely on promotions over the years and love supporting their establishment with such friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thank you everyone for continuing to support Scott's Nursery!

It was a great day at the Fredericton home show representing the Canadian Home Builders Association - N.B. Lots of foot traffic and likely even more tomorrow. Come check it out. Spring is here.

The "Seeding our Future: Risky Play" seminar that our association put on Thursday, 21st made the ATV news. It was great - combination of exercises and education.

Are you sick and tired of kids (possibly yours) not going outside anymore? How many times have you seen someone post a meme/picture stating "I'm glad I grew up like this (picture of kids playing outside likely in mud or throwing rocks on the water or building a camp) and not like this (picture of kids playing nintendo or computer on the couch)"? You know the pictures I'm talking about, you've seen them. It's disheartening to say the least. We all remember our childhood and it... was great. Road Hockey was the best. Let's take the power back. Bumps, bruises and scrapes are not only vital to our learning but they're encouraged. Stop bubble wrapping these kids. Our Industry's Provincial Association is hosting part 2 of "Seeding the Future: Risky Play" Thursday, March 21st. It's a follow up to last year's session which was a smashing success. 100+ attendance. It's intended for everyone - all sectors. Please come and/or spread the word. Here are some pictures from last year's session! To register: http://www.landscapenb-pei.ca/seeding-the-future-2019.html

I recognize this message should have gone out yesterday on Christmas Day, however, we were quite busy with friends and family as it should be. So, I'd like to take this evening's opportunity, on behalf of all of us here at Yards Apart to send our sincerest gratitude to all of our clients of Christmas past, present and future. Without our lovely clients, we would cease to exist. Personally, from the owner's perspective, I'd like to thank our guys, without you, Yards Apart woul...d be nothing, you guys drive the bus, I just give a map with coordinates. Each and every one of you are very important to the A- team in your own contributing ways, I respect each and every one of you immensely. I'm attaching our short Christmas message currently running on our City's leading station KHJ, so for shits and giggles, leave me a message if you've heard it as I am curious. Surprise surprise I couldn't figure out how to switch formats, so please click link below to enjoy! In closing, long story longer - Merry Christmas everybody, hope it was a blast and all the best in 2019 from the entire YAL&D team! Much love and respect. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pl2yx3f/YARDS%20APART%281%29.mp3

Our legendary executive director of our Landscape NB/PEI, Jim Landry, is doing his annual bike ride for charity. This year he has raised the bar from 3-400km to 1,000km including a tour over seas! Great story - follow the links to read, learn more and donate to a great cause.

Here are a fraction of some of our jobs this summer and into early Fall. Please stay tuned because even sexier jobs are on the horizon. I know there's been a radio silence, but are you honestly surprised? I hardly use the computer - but I will say this - we're very much out there and we're having a blast. All of us, couldn't be happier here at Yards Apart Landscape. We are truly a great team, the A team, with different strengths and weaknesses, that's what makes a good team G...REAT. Very proud of all the boys this season. As owner/operator, I must say we wouldn't be where we are without their hard work and determination. Proud to announce we're booked for the season - but call us anyway and we'll chat about 2019 plans or perhaps the Detroit Red Wings/ Toronto Maple Leafs. Anything at all. Very happy with everyone and feeling truly blessed. Love those guys. See more

Some of our projects to date thus far in '18. Ones I remembered to take pictures of anyway, I have a terrible habit of forgetting pictures.

Believe it or not, the season is upon us. If you're feeling overwhelmed this season, feel free to use this helpful guide in your decision! If you have any questions? Ask away! We love questions.

What a great night with some lovely folks, near and far. I love seeing everyone's great work and chatting with both familiar and strange faces.

For the most part, kids don't go outside anymore. This is a problem. This was a great seminar put on by world renown Adam Bienenstock. His specialty is natural outdoor playgrounds and the focus was - getting kids back outside! Thrilled with the turn out. Kudos to Dave Milburn @Focal Point Landscape Design and Installation for the initiative of spearheading and hosting this event in conjunction with Jim @ LNB. SPECIAL THANKS to all of our sponsors and more importantly everyone who came! Thank you! Great success in my opinion.

At Yards Apart, we wanted to come up with a creative way to announce our latest hire. We bet you have never seen a landscape company announcement like this before...
