Our Environmental Land Use Planner, Shea Shirley, attended the third quarter meeting for the Athabasca Joint Environmental Sub-Committee (AJES), in addition to other community AJES representatives Georgie McDonald, Jerilyn Benonie, and Victor Fern. They were also joined by Darren Thomas, Manager of the Northern Saskatchewan Environmental Quality Committee. The meeting involved a tour of the tailings management facility (TMF) at Orano's McCLean Lake Operation. The tour provided an overview of the TMF and its planned expansion to hold additional tailings from the uranium milling process.
