The Yearn to Urn 28.12.2020

Yesterday’s first question asked about my process. With winter planters, I start with the size and style of the planter. A traditional planter tends to lend to a more traditional design. For materials, my go to is what is freshest from my suppliers. I try to avoid promising a particular type of evergreen or branch - until I can see it and choose it myself. Third is colour accents. I tend to take my cues from the exterior facade. I’ll always try to compliment the brick,... stone or siding as opposed to contrasting. If a client has decor they want used or reuse year after year, well... that of course is the palette I’ll work from. And as for bows.... they aren’t my fave but if a client asks or if the design calls for it, a bow it shall be. My personal design guide is that a bow should never be the focal point; simply an accent. Thanks for asking!! #yearntourn #seasonalplanters #seasonalplantersubscriptions #seasonalcontainers #seasonaldecor #seasonalcontainersubscriptions #seasonalurns #seasonalurnsubscriptions #seasonalplanterworkshops #burlingtonontario #hamiltonontario #oakvilleontario #thevillage See more

As much as everyone is trashing this past year, I want to say thank you and celebrate it. It has been my absolute pleasure working, planting and creating for you. Your waves of welcome, encouragement and appreciation from windows and door steps will probably be my favourite memory of 2020. I know I am one of the very fortunate to have seen my business grow throughout a global pandemic. I am equally fortunate to love what I do and be able to share it with you. ... I am looking forward to continuing to ‘bloom and grow’ with you and for you throughout 2021. Be well. Stay well. Continue to surround yourself with life and beauty. Happy New Year. #yearntourn #seasonalplanters #seasonalplantersubscriptions #seasonalcontainers #seasonaldecor #seasonalcontainersubscriptions #seasonalurns #seasonalurnsubscriptions #seasonalplanterworkshops #burlingtonontario #hamiltonontario #oakvilleontario #thevillage

I spent yesterday in my second favourite place, the kitchen, prepping a gorgeous fish stew for dinner and yummies for today. I was also planning on taking a pic of my favourite peeps and sharing my family with you however.... a random reaction to shellfish has left me looking like a blowfish sooo.... Merry Christmas from me and my motley crew to you and yours.

It’s pretty awesome to be on the provisional side of this virtual Christmas table. 1 family. 7 households. 8 matching centrepieces. We’re all doing what we can to stay connected this Christmas. This Christmas may not feel the same, but it will ‘look’ the same. #smartclient #familyfirst #yearntourn #seasonalplanters #seasonalplantersubscriptions #seasonalcontainers #seasonaldecor #seasonalcontainersubscriptions #seasonalurns #seasonalurnsubscriptions #seasonalplanterworkshops #burlingtonontario #hamiltonontario #oakvilleontario #thevillage

I was crushing pretty hard on this planter from last year. I loved the size of it - almost 4ft wide and 6ft tall. I loved that the container wasn’t black! I loved the natural vibe. #yearntourn #seasonalplanters #seasonalplantersubscriptions #seasonalcontainers #seasonaldecor #seasonalcontainersubscriptions #seasonalurns #seasonalurnsubscriptions #seasonalplanterworkshops #burlingtonontario #hamiltonontario #oakvilleontario #thevillage
