We know that making is an important outlet for many of our members but we need to ensure everyone's safety. It's not all sad news though, we had two big glaze firings come out on the last day and members were able to pickup their projects, just in time for the holidays. This monster hand build is progressing nicely at the shop. It's going to take nearly a full kiln all to itself! Very nice work by @artraystudio we'll definitely share the finished piece after firing.

Shop maintenance continues. This week one of the thermocouples in our kilns died. It's a quick but important job. The thermocouple is a digital thermometer that controls the firing of the kiln. The first step of the repair is disconnecting the power for safety. Then we open the control box and give the wiring a visual inspection, everything looks good today. Then we remove the old thermocouple from its block, you can see the dramatic difference. It's hard to showcase the glaze library at ENTS, it's impossible to showcase the endless glaze details that can be achieved with them! ENTS members maintain a massive glaze collection at our space. This selection means the perfect glazes are available for their projects, allowing them to experiment and explore glazes in a way few people can. There's also a wealth of knowledge shared in our community about how the glazes react and behave which means our members don't suffer ...as much heartache of pieces running or wrecking.
