We were gifted with a really wonderful treat tonight! The French Creperie generously dropped off a box of their warm crepes along with three sides - Nutella, strawberries, and bananas - for us to build our own desserts. The thin, lacy, eggy, golden brown pancakes were reminiscent of the fresh crepes bought from stands throughout Paris on a trip taken years ago. This is probably because the owner (and current University of Alberta student), Evan, is actually from France, makin...g these handmade crepes very authentic. The 13" size of each pancake is plenty filling, too. Therefore, a pack of five plain crepes with two sides for $19.99 is the perfect finish to a family meal. For parties, the pack of fifteen with four sides would be the way to go! We also can't wait to see how the menu expands. We especially think that some savoury sides would be awesome additions! All of the crepes are made fresh to order on your selected day of pick up or delivery, which is available 7 days a week. A drop off at your door has a low fee of just $5. One of our absolute fave local eateries is DOSC. We've been supporting this business since the very beginning because this steakhouse is top notch. Even through delivery, the food was excellent. Our order arrived within 15 minutes of the requested time, and everything was still warm and tasty. These items from DOSC were part of the family feast for 4 people, including the mash, grilled sirloin with spicy horseradish, mac n cheese, kale Caesar salad, and Brussels sprouts. Placing our order for today's delivery from Bagel Bar was as much of a nail-biter as trying to get tickets to the hottest concert in town! But, we persevered! After almost a whole hour yesterday morning refreshing their online shop over and over again (we've heard the process has been greatly improved since!), we finally managed to snag the items we wanted and rushed through payment in order to lock in our purchase. These beautifully soft, chewy artisanal bagels showed up on ...our doorstep in time for lunch. Sadly, the cinnamon crunch bagel that I was super excited to try ended up being short on stock ( fingers crossed for next time); however, the plain with sea salt was still fantastic with the sweet vanilla cream cheese. The spread is incredibly fresh and smooth with a whipped consistency, and, although it smelled quite sugary, the flavour was subtle like a really fantastic cream cheese frosting. The other cheddar jalapeno bagel we sampled paired very well with an equally delicious cheddar chive cream cheese. If you're hoping to get your hands on some of these breakfast/brunch/lunch/anytime treats, have your fingers ready to work at 8am on the dot! Their online shop goes live at that time every Tuesday to Friday for delivery or pickup the following day. Minimum order has just been dropped to $20, and delivery is $7 + tax anywhere in Edmonton. Never has a purchase of ours been more timely without even trying! Bountiful Farmers' Market is one of our favourite places to find locally made goods. They currently remain open for business every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with many extra precautions in place to ensure the safety of their customers during the COVID-19 pandemic (check out their website for all of the details! Link is posted below!). Additionally, they have started offering limited delivery service each week, preferably for those in quarantine or with limited access to tra...nsportation. If you are actually mobile and able to make your way to the market, curbside pick up is now an option as well! Forms for both are posted on their website. Try your best to be as precise as possible with your order (include business name, quantity, and price, if you know) to help the staff fulfill your requests. Payments can be made through e-transfer, debit, or credit. These forms are made available for the following market weekend every Friday morning. Deliveries can be submitted until 6pm every Thursday. Curbside pick up forms are accepted until 9pm on Thursdays. From the looks of it, the delivery form has not yet been disabled for April 24-26, so there may be slots left for this weekend. Some curbside pick up spots are also showing as open on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. You still have a few hours to get them in tonight!
