Donated blood for my 2nd time ever last night! I plan on being a regular donor for 2021. You could be helping a child being treated for cancer, a mother who has just given birth, or a father about to have heart surgery. Every donation you make matters. It matters to every patient and their loved ones across Canada. Book a donation appointment: https://www.blood.ca/en Canadian Blood Services

Tip Tuesday! The entire purpose of social media is to connect people, and a huge part of that is engaging with others. If you give responses with little thought or enthusiasm behind them, people will catch on and won’t bother replying in the future. Show your followers you’re present when you read their comments by actively engaging with them in conversations. Whether you run a business or personal account, the rule for both is the same. To grow your following and do so with ...people who care about you and your brand, put more effort into your interactions. Add emojis, refer to them by name, and comment on their social media content as well. You can also show your followers you care by offering customer support if you’re a business account. In one study, 89 percent of consumers said they switched to a competitor after experiencing poor customer service. More people are turning to social media to voice their complaints with brands because it’s quicker and more direct. You can use this to your advantage by replying to customers’ inquiries and providing solutions.

As the New Year 2021 stands before you like a fresh chapter in the book of your life, you need to decide what to write on these blank pages. We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day. Edith Lovejoy Pierce. Enjoy your fresh start!

The give & take with the people in our lives can be beautiful annnd also draining. ‘Energy vampires’ (people in our life who drain us vs. energize us) are a real thing, and they can suck up our power. Protect your peace this weekend

My 2020 year in review! This year had it ups & downs, I can happily say that I have more good memories than bad this year. This year taught me a lot of things. Pivot. Not all change is bad. ... Perseverance. Determination. How strong I really am. I am ready to head into the new year with new ideas, new goals & feeling refreshed! On this New Year, may you change your direction and not dates, change your commitments and not the calendar, change your attitude and not the actions, and bring about a change in your force, and your focus and not the fruit. May you live up to the promises you have made and may you create for you and your loved ones the happiest New Year ever!

#stockingstuffersforseniors delivery day looked very different this year! But we were able to safely deliver gifts to Operation Friendship Seniors Society (OFSS) seniors thanks to the generosity of London Drugs shoppers & all you amazing supporters. We can happily report that ALL tags were filled! Last week we delivered gifts to 350 housing units, 500 to our drop in centre & 100 for community visits. Thank you all for making Year 6 of our campaign the BEST year to date...! My day was filled with smiles, laugh and a lot of tears but all happy tears. So grateful to have been involved with this program for the past 6 years.

Your Friday thought as you head into the weekend!

YEGtweetup 11.05.2020

Operation Friendship Seniors Society (OFSS) #StockingStuffersforSeniors campaign in partnership with London Drugs supports many local seniors every year at Christmas. This year due to COVID 19 our seniors have spent so much time in isolation, away form family & friends. So receiving a gift at Christmas will not only mean receiving needed items like toiletries, fun activities like puzzles and books.. or a warm blanket to cuddle up with. It will mean a sense of connection... a... knowing that someone took the time to shop just for them and is thinking of them this holiday season. So please help us fill these tags, we promise it will be the best gift you give all year. The details: 1. Head to any London Drugs locations in Edmonton, St. Albert or Sherwood Park anytime from now to Wednesday, December 16th. 2. Look for the specially decorated Christmas Tree and pick a Tag ( or two). 3. Shop for the personally requested items for the individual on the tag (many items the seniors have asked for are basics or necessities: Book/Magazines, Paper Towels, Tissues, Toothbrush, Lotion, Gloves, Warm Socks, Coffee Cup/Travel Mug ect). 4. Leave/drop off the purchased items with the tag at the London Drugs Customer Service. The gifts will be wrapped by Santa and the Elves and safely delivered to each senior before Christmas. (The elves are working with OFSS and the care homes to ensure delivery has as limited contact as possible and ensuring the delivery of gifts meets COVID-19 health and safety regulations.) Thank you for your continued support of this amazing program that started right here in Edmonton. Full details: https://www.ofss.org/events-2-2/ 3 Leaf Wellness Centre

Just. Keep. Going. If you doubt yourself at any point in the process, then replace this train of thought with a positive message for yourself. Think about how far you’ve come. Think back to when you started & take a look at yourself now. Look at the difference!

Tip Tuesday! For every $100 spent at a locally-owned business, $73 remains in the local economy & $27 leaves. Compare that to the same $100 spent at a non-locally owned business, where $43 remains in the local economy & $57 leaves. Please keep this in mind when your shopping this holiday season!

Joey Moss touched the lives of so many people, and tributes are pouring in from all over the world. He is honoured in this mural, appropriately located on 99 St...reet. RIP Joey. There are calls to have the Downtown Community Arena (at Rogers Place) to be renamed for him, as well as a statue beside Wayne Gretzky's. How will you remember him?

YEGtweetup 06.09.2019

Tip Tuesday! There can be serious consequences to a lack of separation between our work lives and personal lives. It can lead to a feeling of being at work 24/7. Always on, never off. This extra work leads to extra pressure and extra stress. These stresses can have physical and mental side effects, with the same study also finding that 31% of work from home employees needed to take a day off for reasons relating to mental health and well being. Taking breaks helps us to remem...ber that work time is finite and stops. When the work day is over, it’s important that we be able to step away and leave our tasks and projects behind. This is true even when we physically remain in the same place. Taking regular shorter breaks, even as short as 10 minutes, combined with longer lunch breaks will help keep the same rhythm as we did while physically present in the office, the routine that ends with us leaving at the end of the day and returning in the morning with a fresh mind. We all know that even with the best intentions, it cannot always be feasible to be supporting a local business at a particular moment monetarily. But we have to remember that it’s not always about the value you can offer for free. With these different ways to support a local business, you can use this in tandem of choosing to shop locally. Even when you may not directly be able to contribute money to a company, you can still help further their goals.

YEGtweetup 31.08.2019

We are collecting socks for #socktober until October 31st! Please let me know if you would like to donate.

YEGtweetup 27.08.2019

Before you buy a bunch of stuff for family & friends this holiday season, try asking them what they really NEED!

YEGtweetup 10.08.2019

I am a PROUD Edmonton entrepreneur! Small Business makes up 95% of the local economy. Show some to a Edmonton business by telling us why they’re amazing! We would like to purchase a bunch of gift cards to support fellow business owners! And yes, you can nominate your own business. Let’s continue to shop local and support each other!

Checked out Boxer - Kitchen & Bar last weekend for the first time! They specialize in local, sustainable fare and have an extensive craft cocktail program. It was the perfect spot & good vibes for a Friday night! I loved what they did with the space (they took over the back of the old holy roller spot) You can only enter from the back alley, felt like a fun speak easy! They had a DJ booth setup, I hope that runs once we are able to dance again. Highly recommend you go in for drinks!

Let yourself try what feels right for you, and don’t worry about making the wrong decision. One of the best things I have learned is that the world is a place to explore, and it will embrace you if you embrace it!

Dear October! I am going to make you AWESOME.

Wednesday Wisdom! Dancing around that thing on your to-do list?*Nervously bobs head* Yup, we all do it. Try doing Last Things First. Start with 1 of the LAST steps in a task (ex. Laundry? Prep drawers for fresh clothes) & use that as an easier entry point.

It’s National Coffee Day! Where’s your favourite local spot?

YEGtweetup 09.03.2019

There's power in showing you *don't* have it all together & owning it. Today, find micro ways to own that you don't have it all together. One idea: Accept help or ask for it when something feels overwhelming. (Ex. Getting an extra set of eyes on a work project)

YEGtweetup 20.02.2019

Friday Feelings! Be mindful of the labels you put on people, you never know the ones they may be placing on you!
