Hey folks, Regrettably we have to announce that we will be CLOSING ALL SUNDAYS for JULY and AUGUST. As you know some of us have been on everyday throughout this pandemic and we are now burning out. With CERB extending and our inability to offer our staff more than CERB we are unable to keep the restaurant operating 7 days a week. We have decided to close for our mental and physical well being. ... We do apologize as this change will be a great inconvenience for you, but we hope to have your understanding. We are truly thankful and greatly appreciate your continued support. Note: The hours will remain the same as the last post except that we will be closed on Sunday.

Thank you for bringing in your lovely papas' and thank you so much for your patience while we worked with new procedures. Unfortunately we have come to the conclusion that it will not be feasible to continue dine in everyday. A wee bit nervous and a whole lot excited that we'll be opening our doors for dine in customers. As we will be practicing social distancing in the restaurant our seating will be limited and we will not be taking groups larger than 6 people. We do recommend reservations as we do not know how busy it will be. We will ask that you sanitize your hands as soon as you enter the restaurant. Thank you for your cooperation!

Hey, how's everyone doing? Hope everyone is doing alright. We will be CLOSED on Sunday, June 14 and Monday, June 15 for a staff break. We will be open for dine-in starting on Tuesday, June 16. It will be limited seating and limited staff. We will not be taking any groups larger than 6. Please call in for a reservation to ensure a spot.

At a time when we cannot gather to celebrate, when we are unable to embrace and where our smiles are hidden by masks we, at Yokozuna, have never felt so much love. We thank you for that love and we hope that you share that love with those of every walk of life! Stand against the wrongs, stop the hate, share the love and let's keep washing those hands!!!

Today was a bit of an upsetting day for us at Yokozuna. We had a phone call from a gentleman asking if there was anyone Japanese, to which Nana replied "I am, can I help you with anything?" He then went on to ask if she was able to translate something into Japanese, for a tattoo, as he loved Japanese culture, the samurai warrior spirit and how honorable Japanese people are. She answered "Sure, not a problem" we do get this request often so it was nothing new. He then asked ...her to translate "fxxx Chinese people". Taken aback and in disbelief she asked him to repeat what he said several times. Of course she turned down the request saying that it was something that she will not translate and did not want to take any part in as it is against her morals. He continued on to say that he will find another means to have those words translated. We have friends, co-workers, family, customers that are Chinese. We will not stand and tolerate this behaviour. In hard times, for some people, evil takes over but we will not allow them to drag us down the same path. We will NOT take part in your actions, we are NOT okay with your racism and we are NOT okay with your hate. We do hope that this man will realize the gravity of what he is planning to do and we hope that he will find peace within himself. Thank you all for coming out for mother's day! We definitely felt everyone's love for their special Mamas!!! We thank you all for patience with the phone line being jammed up and the long wait times. We're sorry we couldn't accommodate all the wonderful mamas! On a side note We are poooooped!!! So we will be closed on Sunday, May 17 and Monday 18 for some much needed rest!

Now that we've gotton an injection of love from our awesome customers... It's almost MOTHER'S DAY!!!! We'll be extending our mother's day hours (Sunday, May 10). We will be open from 4:45pm to 8:30pm. We are still staggering take out orders, so please call early for a time slot. Thank you all for supporting our decision to stay as a take-out only restaurant! We've always known that we had been blessed with such caring customers but, wow, Thank you so much!

After much thought, considering, consulting with staff and budgeting we have decided NOT TO RE-OPEN our floor for business on May 14. We still have staff that are uneasy/afraid with coming back as well as we will not be able to give staff enough hours or afford to hire back with only 50% of the floor being open. It has been a very hard decision for us not to re-open. We are very eager to serve you all but, at this time, for our staff and business we feel this is the right decision. We thank you for your understanding and we hope that you can continue to support us. We will still being doing take out for the time being.

Achoo! Yikes, it's already allergy season!!! But on the plus side the birds are chirping, plants are starting to grow and the sun is oh so warm! And everyone pat yourselves on the back, it seems as though our social distancing is working!!! FYI We realize that it is hard to get through on the phone sometimes. Call early to beat the rush, Nana is available to take phone calls during our lunch hours and is available to take phone calls from 4:30pm. Stay AWESOME Edmonton!!! We really want to thank everyone for the out pouring of love. Thank you for being patient when you have to wait for your takeaway. Thank you for persisting when you have to call over and over because the phone line is busy. Thank you for asking about our well being and all the encouraging words. We will be temporary changing our hours of operation. Lunch: 11:30am to 2pm Dinner: 5pm to 8pm As for take out we will be staggering the pick up times so that we do not have any overlap in customers. So please try to be on time. The terminals(debit machines) are sanitized after each use. The door handles are being sanitized frequently and there are hand sanitizer and lysol wipes available.... Due to the recent development of the spread and impact of Coronovirus we have reduced the number of staff. We will also be moving towards doing more take-out, we still have dining space for now, will be keeping all the reservations that have already been made and hours will be reduced for the time being. O, winter you are back again to taunt us. Going to pull out the shovel again All kidding aside we will be closed Sunday, March 15 and Monday, March 16 for much needed R&R for the Yokozuna Family. We hope that everyone will be able to relax as well!!!
