Someone asked today what my favourite vendors are. I've had the privilege of meeting some incredibly talented people in my industry these past couple years and this is a tough list! When it comes to venues however, I may be biased, but @kinloch.grove is definitely a favourite of mine! This space is a deep breath of fresh air with its gorgeous, spacious tent nestled in a beautiful poplar forest. One Valentine's Day, like ten years ago, I was living in Winnipeg, riding the beloved Wpg transit on a -40 Valentine's day, in the worst mood ever. I looked out the window, scanning over the people at the bus stop, stopping at this mean looking dude, dressed all in biker leather, tattoos covering his bald head, and in his hand was the brightest most cheerful looking bouquet of pink roses I had ever seen! It made me smile. He put himself out there. Not taking himself too seri...ously, and not caring what other people might have thought and I'll never forget him. Valentine's day is definitely over-commercialized and can feel very isolating for a lot of people, but it's also a day where we get to add pops of bright colour into our wintery white February world. We get to love on our people by giving gifts, with acts of kindness and speaking kind, loving words. I'm a sucker for Vday and always will be. Wishing you lots of love today. See more

If you have opened your door recently to receive Yellow Birch flowers, there's a good chance you saw this guy. This is Ty, my husband and the other half of Yellow Birch Floral. Over the past year, he has stepped into his role big time helping me at the market, doing deliveries, cleaning buckets, processing flowers, you name it... he's done it. Truth be told, I couldn't do it without him and I'm so grateful to have such an awesome business partner. He also looks pretty... great modeling that fresh take on our YB logo from @jennynicole_creative! Will be adding some of these sweaters to the shop real soon! See more
