As many of you know, we recently moved to Vancouver Island from a city we called home for over ten years. The social isolation became more real then ever and my creative community in Calgary was now fully virtual which made any sort of play impossible. And with that, came grief, lots of it, on top of the collective grief the world is facing. I remained hopeful and have lived to tell the tale. A silver lining of 2020 was meeting Danielle. I walked into her shop a few days afte...r arriving on Vancouver Island in June and felt a very instant and very deep connection to the creative soul responsible for the design of the shop. Seconds later, and as my luck would have it, she walked in through the front door and I didn’t hesitate to introduce myself. 6 months later, Danielle has asked me to join her on her incredible soul project shes been working on, as her photographer. Market of Stars will include other artists that will each play a role in this creation and I am SO excited to have this opportunity to ground myself in this space and time with some incredible humans by my side. We believe in each other. We believe in our shared vision. This is what brought us together, and this is what will propel us forward. This is the art I live and create for, art with purpose and deep meaning. It’s no coincidence that this book flipped to this page when we did our first photo shoot back in August.
