To protect our customers, it is recommended that customers wear a mask. For men with beards, this will be challenging, but based on scientific research, shaved faces carry about the same amount of microbes and bacteria as bearded faces. This is because shaving introduces micro nicks in your skin which open up the skin barrier. So just as touching an infected surface and then touching your beard could introduce germs or bacteria, the same could happen on a clean-shaven face. ...Moreover, research shows that the number of microbes or bacteria in facial hair is comparable to what is found elsewhere on our skin. Our skin, including our face, has bacteria on it all the time, regardless of facial hair status. Most experts agree that facial hair will not increase the likelihood of contracting or spreading the coronavirus [or other viruses. Thus, we are asking that our bearded and non-bearded customers WASH their beards, faces, and hair well before their appointment. We are also implementing social-distancing protocol, limiting the number of customers in the shop at a time to two, one in the chair and one on the couch in the waiting area. We also have to remember that the best ways for us to stay safe is to wash our hands, maintain a safe physical distance from others and keep our ‘rules’ for social interactions top of mind. Thus, we have placed hand sanitizer at the entrance to the shop, which is highly recommended that customers use. We are also implementing social-distancing protocol, limiting the number of customers in the shop at a time to two, one in the chair and one on the couch in the waiting area. Also, our full safe visit protocol is posted on our shop window, which includes passing a Covid19 health check asking customers that have a new cough, fever, runny nose or have been out of town recently to stay home.
