Over the past few weeks our Montreal CYJ Youth Council has been working hard to develop content that is designed to help all of our Kinneret campers connect with each other over the long cold winter. Today they ran a really creative and well attended Chanukah Party for our Rishonim, Giborim & Goshrim campers! Our Youth Council is also excited to share their most recent Weekly Shpiel, their new Youth Council YouTube Channel and Apple Music and Spotify Playlists! The pandemic has created a financial burden on many of our families and the demand for financial aid has increased significantly. Our priority has always been to provide each and every camper with a transformative experience and to ensure that this experience is accessible to all. With sadness, we regret to inform our CKB community that our long time former caterer and camp grandfather, Marcel Ohayon ZL, passed away this past Wednesday November 11, 2020. For over a decade, together with his son Jack, Marcel took loving care of each and every camper and staff member making sure that we were all happy and well fed. At the onset of each summer, we were all welcomed by Marcel who found sincere joy in seeing how everyone had grown since the last season. If a camper was feeling down, we could always count on Marcel to raise their spirits with a freshly baked cookie. It was an honour for us to have Marcel perform Kiddush for our entire camp each and every week. We will miss Marcels’ warmth, generosity and beautiful smile and we give our sincere condolences to Mimi, Jack, Jason, Caroline, Diane and their families.
