The YMCA of Niagara has made the difficult decision to permanently close the Niagara Falls YMCA, located in the MacBain Community Centre, effective immediately. The economic impact of the pandemic has had a devastating impact on YMCAs across the country including the YMCA of Niagara. The Niagara Falls location was already experiencing significant membership losses prior to the pandemic and YMCA projections indicate membership numbers will continue to decline. Relative to the ...size of the community, delivering YMCA programs and services in a facility as large as the MacBain Community Centre is no longer economically sustainable.
