Based on this announcement from the Province of Nova Scotia, effective February 8, 2021, fitness facilities can operate at 75 per cent capacity, we look forward to welcoming more people into our facility and spaces. Please note that the three metre requirement for high intensity exercises is still in place, so some capacities will remain the same.

YMCA Member and Group Fitness Instructor Erin Atkinson is a rare gem. As a professional dancer, she brings a poise and grace to everything she does, and we are thrilled that she is sharing her experience with our Y community. The YMCA is a community in every sense of the word; our members, staff and volunteers create a sense of belonging that is like no other. We are proud that our YMCA is also a place for people to learn, develop and grow, following their own passions to serve our community. Often times, because of this, we have many relatives that work, volunteer and thrive at our Y. Meet our newest family staff members, the Hunter's: ... Avery has been an Assistant Lifeguard and Swim Lesson Instructor at our association for nearly two years, excelling in her leadership skills both in and out of the pool; Matthew has recently joined the Fitness Department as one of our helpful Wellness Coaches, driven by his passion for health, sport and recreation. The siblings both think of community when they reflect on what the Y means to them and we find ourselves feeling very blessed to have their family, like so many before them, a part of ours.
