What are your favourite self care activities? I love taking a hot bath, napping and practicing yoga (as you probably know)! Let me know down in the comments! And please remember to spend time with yourself today
Who wants to jump into 2021 head first with me? The 30 day challenge was something I was introduced to for the first time when attending Yoga Cold Lake. It’s simple: you commit to touching your mat everyday for 30 days. From astanga to yin, to simply breathing and being present on your mat, anything counts. Immersing myself in this experience for the first time years ago led to immense shifts in all aspects of my life. I’m looking forward to making this commitment to myself ...starting Jan 4 with the intent to continue the commitment to my self and wellness though the entire year. Doing something for 30 days straight creates a habit that will hopefully become a part of your instinctual activities. Although the commitment is much more difficult with a completely home based practice, I hope we all can allow ourselves the space to not judge our practice. Understanding that a 60 minute vinyasa practice is not always necessary allows yourself the room to create longevity, strength and commitment in your practice, which is the intended outcome of this challenge. Feel free to participate, share your experiences and collectively feel how committing to yourself, even for a short period, can affect your mind and body so drastically. Happy New Year and Namaste
Have you done something today to improve your mind-body connection? Leave it down in the comments! Keep and eye out for some pre recorded classes coming in the new year, including content ranging from accessible flows and myofacial work to specialized perinatal yoga & education. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone & stay safe
Hey friends! Join me for your midweek reset with Flow & Yin Wednesdays at 530 at YogaOnyx This class is perfect for beginners or those who want a balanced practice. The first half of the class is a moderately paced flow, where you would learn the basics of any flow yoga practice, while having the option to deepen your yoga practice through advanced cuing. The second half of the class consists of yin postures, which are held for 3-5 minutes each. Take the time to make your practice your own in this accessible class. Hope to see all your wonderful faces on your mat!
I can’t even believe I’m here...what a wonderful week spent with Mackenzie Miller at the beautiful @fairmontcll learning techniques in myofascial release, which I cannot wait to incorporate into my future offerings for you all. These techniques are so simple yet have changed how my body feels drastically in only a few sessions. In addition we learned helpful techniques for meditation that will undoubtedly allow me to better lead students though guided meditation. What a lovely experience!
