Let's talk about your pantry. And what does this have to do with yoga?! First, this isn't my picture. But it's a pantry goal of mine to be this organized and waste free.... Our pantry has always been way over stocked. But that got really bad in 2020. We stocked up on a lot of pantry "essentials" but it became so much that we couldn't even see what we had in there anymore. Can you relate? You know when you have so much stuff, that you think you have nothing? Because there is too much choice? (this happens with clothing as well) This was happening with our pantry. So we kept shopping, and buying more, and shoving it into the pantry. So in Fall/Winter 2020, I decided that we were doing a purge. We HAD to make meals with our pantry items, and only buy the necessities (fresh items) to make it a complete meal. About 3 months later, and our pantry is almost empty. And our grocery bills were at an all time low. In the next week or two, we will be ready to buy our glass containers - and start purchasing at waste free stores. This allows us to buy only what we need, and usually at a lower cost. So what does this have to do with yoga. Have you heard of Aparigraha? The 5th Yama that asks us to only take what we need, to only keep what brings us joy, and to learn to let go. For the past week I have been diffusing Clarity essential oil almost daily. An oil I actually never used to reach for, but now I needed. Today I finally woke up and found the clarity I was searching for. And I thank our community for always meeting me with love and grace Today we also had our first Tea + Philosophy class, and it was so great! A great group, open to learning, and engaging in conversation. Thank you ... And here’s a challenge update! The universe couldn’t have given us better weather today, as our members were tasked to get outside and go for a walk. Once when I was about 22 years old, someone told me that I was too old to wear bright pink boots. FYI I still have them, and I wear them all the time. Luckily, I couldn't give a sh*t what she thought about my outfit, and I still continue to wear pink as much as I possibly can. I am currently wearing these pants, as well as the matching sweater, as I type this post. Pink makes me happy. It always has.... Could you imagine how damaging this could have been, if I did care what she thought? What if I just decided to never wear pink again because some random person told me I was too old? I dare you to say something good about this year I’ll go first...

You may have seen it in our Instagram stories yesterday, but here’s my little nugget receiving her first raindrop treatment. A usual session takes an hour to complete, and I care for my mental health too much to attempt that on a 3 year old. So I set my expectation at 15 minutes, and knew that would consist of several body positions. I started on her back instead of her feet because she wanted to start belly down. Instead of the full technique, I simply used each oil and rubb...ed it on her back. She then wanted to sit up, so I took the opportunity to add the oils to the soles of her feet. Kids can benefit from these treatments, they just need it to be adapted for their age. So for Aubrey this was reduced time, and more dilution of the oils. My mama heart was happy when she said over and over I’m sooooo relaxed She then wanted to read I am Yoga before bed last night. Last week I was trying to recall what I did in my free time. I certainly wasn’t cutting cucumber slices into star shapes. And I wasn’t running a business during a pandemic. So, what did Sophie do in her 20’s?... I thought I would recall some of my hobbies, things I did to relax, and fill the time. Then it popped into my head: I did crafts. A lot of them. I did scrap booking, knitting, home decor I would find on Pinterest. So this weekend I thought I would dedicate some time to my past hobbies, and it was extremely nice to spend my time doing something other than working.
