how did everyone’s crow pose go? weekly home challenge ... week # 9 k i n d n e s s... in a world where you can be anything... BE KIND this week whether it’s once or maybe once a day let’s spread some kindness... it could be big or small... maybe you pay for the car behind you at Tim Hortons drive thru, sending flowers to someone, dropping off baked goods or a meal to a neighbour or seniors (of course respecting social distancing) i ended up in emerg and day surgery on Monday so I sent those incredible nurses some cookies from my fave bake shop Laurie's Bakeshop (#supportlocal) please comment below how you will be spreading kindness this week and inspire others we are ALL in this together #yoga #yogaeverydamnday #kindness #bakasana #connection #gratitude #thankful #justbreathe #water #create #creativity #nature #sunshine #weeklychallenge #community #truro #trurobuzz

did everyone get those creative juices flowing this week? i tried some new recipes, the chocolate chip cookies were amazing! i dusted off my old canon and took some photos & coloured in my mandala meditation colouring book such a stress reliever weekly home challenge ... week # 8 b a k a s a n a (crow pose)... maybe you are already a pro at crow or maybe you’ve been a little timid of this hand balancing pose (you are at home now with no one watching so stack those pillows up in front of you incase you take a face plant...it’s only a small distance to the ground you’ll be fine ... give it a shot, what do you have to loose?) * plant those hands just like your down dog; middle fingers straight ahead, fingers spread wide creating a solid base * get those hips up high, place your knees on your triceps (work towards getting as high as your armpits) beginning we can have our elbows bent creating a bit of a shelf for our knees (work towards straightening your arms - using your core to lift and the squeeze from the inner thigh to fly * when pressing those hands into the earth think of the opposite action - rounding the upper back and pressing the space between the shoulders to the sky (action/reaction) * engage that core (pull belly button to spine) * from here TRUST yourself maybe lift a foot, maybe both, maybe just for a second * you can also try with props my 2 fave modifications are with blocks 1. place block(s) under feet to get those hips extra high and follow the same steps as above 2. place block infront of you on it’s 3rd height (the tallest way) and bring your forehead to the block for balance and flow the steps above good luck with your crow! if you have any questions please feel free ask away. please comment below how your practice with crow is going we are ALL in this together #yoga #yogaeverydamnday #bakasana #connection #gratitude #thankful #justbreathe #water #create #creativity #nature #sunshine #weeklychallenge #community #truro #trurobuzz
