Yoga For Hockey Players 05.10.2020

I LOVE when these powerful men share their attribution of success on and off the ice, court, field, boardroom, etc with yoga. It is so refreshing as a former athlete experiencing and knowing how much a consistent yoga practice truly does for the mind and body and how it truly can, and does, attribute to the heightened success of one's sport(or business). A team can have the best players in the world, however if the lot of them are injured by the time playoffs come around, it ...doesn't really matter how good you are. If you do not have the majority of your key players due to injury(of which yoga is a huge enormous prevention for), lack of physical endurance(of which yoga also builds/expands the lung capacity as well as builds intrinsic strength), and/or the lack of mental state and focus that yoga is so key in providing; not only does it add too many unnecessary opposing forces to the realm of succeeding, however succeeding with joy. When the athletes vehicle/machine(mind and body) is running strong, clean, consistent and clear...life is good, passion remains strong therefore you as an athlete fire is still burning strong. Happy mind=happy body and vise versa. However when the body is not running to it's fullest potential and efficiency, it is really tough both physically and mentally. Solution: Find a great and knowledgable Yoga Instructor that truly connects with the life and needs of a high performance athlete and figure out how you can incorporate some sort of consistent yoga practice for both on and off season. This can also include something as simple as breathing/meditative exercises that you can do while on the airplane and/or right before you go to sleep and/or upon wakening. I LOVE when I can share these little tricks with athletes that are open to them as they are truly life/game transforming when you stay consistent with them. :) 'The enhanced energy and physical strength from a regular practice provides them the level of vitality necessary to be at the top of their game through an entire season, playoffs and championships, or during the long days of building and running a thriving business.'
