Sat Shree is the meditation teacher of Anne Parsonage, director of Yoga from the Heart Canada. Please see the previous post for all the info on Sat Shree's visit to Toronto on June 6, 7, 8. Here is a link to a video interview with Sat Shree by the Shift Network at the 2017 Yoga Summit. He really starts to warm up about half way through the interview, so watch it to the very end. It will help you decide if you would like to attend one or both of the satsangs. https://www.youtube.com/watch

Anne's meditation teacher, Sat Shree of New Dharma, is coming to Toronto June 6, 7, and 8. There will be an evening Satsang (7-9pm) on each of Thursday June 6 and Friday June 7, at Friends House near St. George subway station (as well as a longer Intensive event on Saturday the 8th). This is a special and rare opportunity to be in the presence of and engage with an enlightened master. Contact Anne Parsonage at Yoga from the Heart Canada for more info. A link to register for the events will be provided below.

Anne just returned from South India where she attended a 6-week meditation retreat with her new meditation teacher Sat Shree of New Dharma. Both India and the retreat were magical. Anne will try to bring some of that magic into the regular weekly yoga classes in Toronto which resume Monday, March 4.

Today the final class of Yoga from the Heart Canada to be held in the sweet boutique studio setting at Spiritwind Centre in Kensington Market took place. It was both a privilege and a delight to run the program out of this space for the past 5 years (but now the landlord is taking it back). Thank you to Dylan Kirk, director of Spiritwind Centre, for creating the friendly community vibration around the space, and for renting it out at affordable rates. In spite of how much we will miss this space and community, nevertheless, we look forward to holding the yoga classes at the new location at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine at 283 Spadina Ave (at Dundas), starting in the new year. Om.

Anne just returned from Italy where she attended a yoga seminar conducted by spiritual teacher, Heinz Grill, founder of Yoga out of the Purity of the Soul, upon which Yoga from the Heart Canada is based. The graceful Heinz Grill teaches out of Aatman (the Higher Self), and Anne did her yoga teacher training with him in Austria in 1993. The formal topic of the seminar was the first region of the soul (called mooladhara 1st chakra in the Hindu tradition) ... that primordial force, that primary building power which rests at the base of the spine in each individual. Anne is inspired to deepen her studies, to try to bring some of the insights received into her yoga classes here in Toronto.

Here is an essay by Anne. It first asks the question "Who is a spiritual person?", and then goes on to talk about the meaning of Bhakti (devotional) yoga. Feel free to make comments and share if you decide to read it: http://yogafromtheheartcanada.com/devo/what-is-bhakti-yoga/

Spiritwind Centre (home of Yoga from the Heart Canada) is having its 5 year anniversary party this Sunday (4- 6pm) in the heart of Kensington Market (same day as Pedestrian Sunday in the Market). So please join us in the studio (northwest corner of Oxford and Augusta, second floor) for some celebratory conversation, food, and beverages. Everybody is welcome. It's going to be a gorgeous warm sunny afternoon.
