This pose Supta Baddha Konasana is helpful in reducing stress. Sometimes we carry tension and stress without even knowing it, until we get ourselves into a restorative pose like this one. Use whatever you have around your place. You can use pillows to support your spine instead of a bolster. Do have a blanket for the back of your head. Don't have a yoga belt? no problem, use a bathrobe belt or a regular belt or a long scarf. Improvise! See how his outer thighs are supported, ...this helps to gently support the opening of the hips/groins. Notice how his arms are supported, fold a couple of towels and support the arms that way. Its not necessary to support the arms or legs, but I find they encourage a deeper relaxation. And who couldn't use that these days! An eye bag is helpful in allowing the brain to relax. If you can, stay for approx. 5 to 10 minutes. This pose is also helpful during menstruation. It helps in opening the chest. Consciously connect with your inhale and exhale. Namaste See more
