Dear friends, I spoke with Service NB about mask-wearing for yoga classes in Orange: Masks must be worn DURING exercise regardless of the intensity and proper social distancing. I know, not ideal. This being said, here are the temporary changes to my schedule until we are back to Yellow: 1. All Chair Yoga classes will continue WITH mask-wearing at all times. 2. Yoga Burn will continue WITH mask-wearing at all times but will reduce in intensity during Orange phase. This means ...we won't be doing HIIT-style cardio, but focus more on traditional yoga poses to make this class feasible while wearing masks. 3. Yin-Yang Yoga will continue WITH mask-wearing at all times. It's important to me that you maintain your health and mental well-being during this time, so we will give this a try! NEW & EXISTING COVID GUIDELINES AT THE STUDIO: Wear a mask at all times, even during class. Masks may be removed briefly when you need water. Sanitize hands with provided sanitizer upon entry. Check in with me at the front desk and answer screening questions. Respect social distancing in building and avoid congregating in the hallways Just before entering the building, make sure there is enough space to social distance in the foyer. If not, please wait outside. Only 2 people in the washrooms at a time please. Please come dressed and ready for class. Washrooms cannot be used as changerooms currently. High contact areas will continue to be sanitized to ensure your safety Refrain from coming to class if you exhibit any flu-like symptoms or those related to Covid-19. Also, if you have travelled outside of New Brunswick, please stay home until you have completed your 14 days of quarantine. Keep safe, be kind and we'll get through this together. - Matthea

YOGA BURN UPDATE: I am putting Thursday's Yoga Burn on hold until we return to Yellow. I will continue Tuesday's Yoga Burn in its much gentler form, so you can still get some yoga in. My apologies, as there's just not enough attendance to hold this class twice a week. We will be back in full force once we return to the Yellow phase! <3

Hi again folks! I know you've been seeing other fitness places in Miramichi say you can take off your mask during exercise, however both in a phone call and email (click to see full pic below), Service NB has told me masks must be worn regardless of exercise type and intensity, with the only difference that high intensity must be spaced 3 metres apart, with masks. I am not critiquing other businesses in any way, as it's a learning curve for all of us and a challenging time! However, I am going to continue with the mask-on policy as it's what Service NB has told me twice today.

Hi folks, tonight's classes will continue as planned, as Orange phase will return midnight tonight. Please stay tuned about the status of my yoga classes in the next 24 hours as I do some research about what this means for us. Snowga on Jan 16: We are good for outside-only gatherings under 25! In the meantime, please continue to mask up, respect distance and avoid non-bubble gatherings. We can do this! Go New Brunswickers!
