"Positive vibes only" will only get you so far. The moment you sit with your 'negative' emotions and find what they are feeding on, the real work begins. You've probably heard the phrase "thoughts create reality" or something to that effect, and it's true. But it's only half the picture. It's not necessarily the thought that creates reality, but our inner resonance towards it. Trying to 'raise your vibe' and bring more energy into your body when it is already overworked and u...nbalanced is like trying to overfill a cup. Positive thoughts and affirmations can be a start but they cannot be the end. A consistent meditation practice can help bring balance to both our body and breath. As you recite your affirmations bring focus to the body and notice how it resonates. Notice the knots, tensions and gut feelings towards the affirmation. Here is where you do the work to bring the body onboard. Next meditation group starts on Monday evening. Link below if you're curious https://linktr.ee/yogawithjas

When asked how life is going, the common response from my parents is, "Chardi Kala." To me, it always meant onward and upward. But I rediscovered the phrase "Chardi Kala in 2020.... Further contemplation led me to the following explanations. Chardi Kala means: High spirits Ever progressive Always cheerful Unwilting spirit Mind that never despairs Mind that never admits defeat and refuses to be crushed by adversities Perpetual state of certitude Confidence in the ultimate victory of truth over falsehood Intensely energized Everascending state of the spirit As the curtains close on this historic year, I wish you "Chardi Kala" for 2021, and always!
