The Canadian Red Cross is urgently scaling up its workforce of skilled aid workers and health personnel to provide vital support to Canada’s COVID-19 response. We are asking for your help by reaching out to your network. They are looking for Canadians to join Red Cross care teams that may be deployed in various operations including support to long term care, contact tracing, testing, vaccination and more. Individuals can choose to deploy locally, provincially or nationally ...as needs evolve. There are short (two weeks) and longer-term assignments available. Training will be provided. We will also provide travel and accommodation where necessary. There are a variety of paid and volunteer positions available. Posting on behalf of the Rotman Research Institute - Baycrest Centre: This workshop through the Rotman Research Institute is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association to offer 6 continuing education credits for psychologists. The Rotman Research Institute maintains responsibility for the program.... On December 11, join our virtual train-the-trainer workshop to learn the latest clinical-scientific information concerning the assessment of executive functions and their evidence-based rehabilitation with Goal Management Training (GMT). Grounded in neuroscience theory, the emphasis of the workshop will be on practical application, with use of clinical cases. Executive functions mediate the control, direction, and regulation of cognitive and mental processes. These skills are affected in conditions such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, multiple sclerosis, and psychiatric disorders. This workshop is designed for: Allied health professionals involved in clinical assessment and treatment of patients with brain or mental health disorders Researchers studying executive functioning in healthy people or people with brain or mental health disorders Clinical or research trainees and students Participants will learn from Dr. Brian Levine (Baycrest’s Rotman Research Institute), who is the primary developer of GMT. This workshop will also cover GMT as delivered remotely through telemedicine, with Charlene O'Connor (Homewood Health) and Dr. Susan Vandermorris (Baycrest).
