Covid or no covid, the art and science of surgery goes beyond just technique and surgical skill. It's about taking care if the WHOLE patient, the care for the PERSON. The healing touch is much more than just surgery. It involves tuning in to your patients’ emotional needs. Touch is such an important element in comforting patients who are in their vulnerable moments before they fall asleep for surgery. By the way... if you don't like being touched, we got you covered too. Th...e most important thing is to have trust in your Surgeon. Look for a surgeon you trust with your face. 416-923-2100 https://www.yorkvilleoralsurgery.com/new-patients-yorkville/ 130 Bloor Street West, Suite 701, Toronto, Ontario M5S 1N5"

Most people develop and grow 32 permanent adult teeth, many times their jaws are too small to accommodate the four wisdom teeth. When inadequate space prevents the teeth from erupting they are called impacted wisdom teeth. This indicates their inability to erupt into the proper position for chewing and cleaning. Check out this patients incredible before and after, thanks to Dr. Tina Meisami! In her words, This wonderful patient first presented in his adolescence for assessment of jaw surgery. We followed him for several years until his skeletal growth was complete. As is evident from the before image, there was a significant under development of the lower jaw causing a large overbite, as well as a lack of projection of his lower jaw and chin. His surgery involved a 6-7 mm advancem...ent of the lower jaw and the chin. I love treating patients within this age group. Not only do they heal quickly and beautifully, but we completed surgery the summer before he started University, which gave him plenty of time to heal and embark on this phase of their lives with their newly reconstructed jaws, restoring function, and ideal aesthetics. There is no better feeling than helping these patients enter society as adults, with a newfound confidence that they will have for the rest of their lives! What a great way to begin a new chapter- he deserves it! Congrats to my patient!" #BSSO #BSSRO #Genioplasty #SlidingGenioplasty #BeforeAndAfter

Yorkville Oral Surgery 28.11.2019

Diagnosis: Anterior Open Bite: the upper and lower front teeth are not in contact; the bite is open by (10mm gap) in the anterior - front teeth. Etiology: developmental during childhood. Thumb-sucking, chronic nasal obstruction, enlarged tonsils, obstructive sleep apnea. If your child is a mouth breather, be sure to investigate and rule-out theses causes. Stop the thumbsucking habit early (before age 2), and eliminate nasal obstruction to prevent permanent changes in bo...ne development, shape and angulation. Many of these issues can be dealt with if treated early. Start your childs dental check-up at age 2. I take mine to paediatric dentists. They ONLY treat children and are experts at identifying and treating or referring patients EARLY on. Treatment: After completion of skeletal growth (over age 19) Upper and lower jaw surgery. This patient also had expansion of the upper jaw to match the width to lower jaw/teeth, and genioplasty to ensure proper closure of the lips and the mouth at rest/respite without tension around the mouth. Look at the improvements of the lower face on profile in this already beautiful patient. The gap between the top and bottom front teeth has been closed to ensure all 28 teeth are in contact for proper function. Treatment: Lefort I Maxillary Osteotomy Advancement, posterior impaction and expansion #SARPE , Bilateral Sagittal Split Mandibular Ramus Osteotomy and Genioplasty. Purpose: Correct open bite, improve speech. Duration Of Surgery : 3 hours Recovery: 3-4 weeks Pain Level: Moderate Virtual Consultations Now Available Hospital: North York General #orofacialsurgery #maxillofacialsurgery #facialsurgery #jawsurgery #girlmaxfacs #lefort #osteotomy #BSSO #orthognathicsurgery #orthognathic #yorkvilleoralsurgery #drtinameisami #reconstructivesurgery #lefort #osteotomy #BSSO #genioplasty #SARPE #openbite @ Yorkville Oral Surgery See more
