In the last few weeks the Young City Growers family has been devastated to have a Black young person who is tied to our food justice community through his family was the victim of police violence. Young City Growers was created to increase safety and wellness for diverse youth through land-based engagement and employment. The wellbeing of our youth is at the heart of food justice movement. We call on our support us to donate to this fundraiser as one way to join efforts to #ProtectBlackYouth in the Waterloo Region.

COMMUNITY CALL FOR SUPPORT We are wrapping up an incredible season! We had our last CSA harvest at the end of October, just before the snow. We are still harvesting small amounts of some crops and providing them to students, but for the most part our season has wound down. However, there is still a lot of work to do! Preparing our plots for winter takes a lot of labour and we would appreciate your help while the weather is so glorious.... If you are available to do some physical labour, please join us during any of the following times (in part or full): - Monday, Nov. 9th, 2 to 6pm - Tuesday Nov. 10th to Thursday Nov. 12th, 4 to 6pm If interested, please email [email protected] for location details and safety info.
