Your Creative Life

You may ask, what exactly is creativity coaching? This is a form of coaching support that focuses on your creative life. By companioning the client on their journey, the coach seeks to help clarify the client's creative vision, set and achieve goals and overcome obstacles in this process. We may work with anxiety issues, self-doubt and creative blocks, identifying meaningful work, marketplace issues, time management, energy budgets, making your own "sacred space" for creating..., and much more. I work with people who want to enhance their own creative practice. This may be at a professional level or where clients are still developing their own sense of personal creativity. You may be a dancer, actor, comedian, visual artist, writer or musician - all are welcome and exciting to work with! I value facing and working with the creative process with honesty in all its stages, both bright and dark, exhilarating and demoralizing. When we are starting out in our careers, momentum is difficult for us to achieve. Many of us lack confidence and feel lost when it comes to making connections in the industry. Networking is a loaded word. It can feel mercenary or crass, despite the fact that we know we have something to offer. A friend advised me once to "become a friend to the community." This immediately resonated with me! How do we become a friend? We may join a group or a society. We introduce ourselves.... We become an active member. We show our support for other members in many small ways - a timely encouragement, attending a show, volunteering our time. It becomes a natural dynamic to offer or show our own work. We become valuable contributing members of a community. Community is vital. Isolated, we cannot succeed. It takes a village to raise a child, and so too a developing artist. Don't shy away from connecting. Instead my challenge to you is to reach out and make comrades. Become a friend to the community and we all flourish
