You're Welcome 14.10.2020

Sad story buds; You’re Welcome is closing the online store. All outstanding orders will be filled but no new orders will be taken. Unfortunately there have been some personal life changes that make running 2 businesses impossible; thank you all for your love and support! I’m sure we’ll be back in some capacity at some point; we love toys and gear too much to stay away! **The binder exchange will stay operating until we find it a new home!**

Hey pals! We’re ordering from gc2b this week! We don’t get a discount from them but we’re happy to absorb the cost of shipping and handling from the US! If you’re interested, check out their website; send us the details of the binder you’d like; we’ll work out the exchange rate and send you an invoice; you send us an etransfer or drop off cash; we’ll message you when they arrive! https://www.gc2b.co

UPDATE: Wow!! We are blown away by the response to this program. We are so excited to host Peterborough Veterinary Outreach. Because of the amount of folks inte...rested, we have decided to change the sign up day from Tuesday to Monday. We know it's short notice - but we want to make sure you don't have to carry your pet around if you don't have to, especially if there are more people than there are spots! HERE IS THE NEW SIGN UP SYSTEM: - For the Sept 1st clinic: 1) Come to One Roof on Monday, August 31st, between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. Bring your OW or ODSP stub. There are 8 spots available. If you get a spot, you will be told at what time to come on Tuesday. All spots are between 2 and 4 PM. 2) Show up at 541 Water St. on Tuesday at your time slot. The vet will meet you outside, ask about your pet, then take the pet inside to perform the check. You can watch through the window. To start with, in order to use this free service you must be on OW/ODSP and live in the City of Peterborough. As we see how our first round goes, we will explore expanding these criteria. The vets are currently seeing ONLY dogs and cats. We would love to hear if you are looking for vet care for other animals, and we can reach out to other services in town who could offer care for them. THANK YOU for your patience and excitement as we test this out and tweak it to improve the program as we move forward!!! ******************************************* We are excited to be partnering with Peterborough Veterinary Outreach to provide a free monthly veterinary clinic to folks on OW or ODSP. Our first clinic will be September 1st. To sign up, go to One Roof (99 Brock St.) on Sept 1st between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. Check out the poster for more information!

DONATE! DONATE! DONATE! Link to donations (also in bio): https://gf.me/u/yq4ffw Link to applying for funding (also in bio): https://forms.gle/GcMBUcHGcChAvHpM7... The COVID-19 Pandemic has brought t to the forefront the inequalities faced by minorities, especially for the Black, Indigenous People of Colour (BIPOC) and 2-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer + (2SLGBTQ+) communities. It has been made apparent that the pandemic stipulates the disproportionate distribution of funding, inaccessible spaces, unemployment and reduced access to gender affirming services in health and public spaces. This new grant aims to acknowledge these struggles, and to support those affected, and is inspired by the QTBIPOC funding put forth by Amita Treva and Natalie in California Although there has been grants put forward by Trent and the greater Peterborough community Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous people of colour (QTBIPOC) individuals are disproportionately affected by the disorganization this pandemic has created. Systemic racism within our institutions has led to class inequalities that have become more apparent as access to healthcare, employment, and secure housing has been a constant struggle for QTBIPOC individuals. Unemployment and poverty rates are high among QTBIPOC communities which means a majority of these individuals cannot access financial aid such as the Canadian Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) as we do not meet the criteria, so are left to fend for ourselves. There is an urgency to ensure that us as individuals can meet our daily needs, giving us tangible, fast and accessible financial aid that could assist in helping our communities sustain ourselves during COVID-19 and beyond.
