Wondering how the State of Emergency effects Real Estate? While it's not business as usual, Real Estate is deemed an essential service. There are aspects affec...ted but we are still able to assist those who need it at this time. It just may look a little differently than previously. Here are a couple of restrictions covered in the new outline: 1. In-person showings are permitted when deemed necessary. We are encouraged to proceed virtually where possible. 2. In-person Open Houses remain prohibited. Virtual only at this time. 3. Short-term rentals for recreational purposes are effectively closed as of January 12th, 2021. If a booking was made prior to January 12th it is permitted to go forward. 4. Renovations started before January 12th will be permitted to continue but those that have not started are not permitted to start. The Durham stats are in for December 2020 and they are on fire!!! 2020 was a very busy year in the GTA for Real Estate with rising values and lots of multiple offer situations! 2021 is starting off with similar trends and isn't looking to slow down!
