Déjà Vu - Poem

Wishing couples and vendors strength and courage as we all continue to ride this wave. As the days progress, we can likely anticipate a potential ‘bloom’ of the virus which will hopefully lead to its ‘burning out’ phase in the coming months. Going forward, I think it’s important to acknowledge that our usual way of life won’t return to the way it once was. I believe it is wise to take that into consideration if you are planning to proceed with your wedding, especially thi...s summer. I also want to provide some guidance and supportive ideas about addressing some of the issues most frequently asked about: -I would highly consider including hand sanitizer and/or a special sanitary station at your event and perhaps signage which encourages guests to please be mindful of hygiene, washing their hands often etc. -I would discuss with your caterer on hygienic food /drink service strategies during cocktail hour / dinner and dessert. -80% of dresses are made in China, along with much décor so be aware you might see a delay in receiving your items given the disruption in supply chains globally. -There will likely be significantly increased demand for wedding dates leading into 2021 (and beyond) so choose a date ASAP if you are thinking of/or have already postponed. This needs to be discussed with your venue and vendors to ensure they will be available and a plan can be agreed to. -If you have a website and/or other means of communicating with your guests, include regular updates about your wedding plans and intentions. -Please consider postponing rather cancelling your special day know that by cancelling you might be forfeiting some/all of the deposits you have made for the event. I have seen this sentiment posted before and would like to bring it to light again. It is okay and I feel necessary to grieve if your event has been affected by this virus; grieve and then let go of that emotion so you can move towards acceptance. We will all get through this and although what you had originally envisioned for your big day might be different now, it can still be filled with love and celebration
