Autumn. Fall. The Harvest. Like many of you, fall is my favourite. I love the crisp, cool air and the crunching of leaves on the ground. It also awakens all things witchy within me. I’m reading more about Persephone and I wonder if she was much more of an active participant in her story than we were led to believe. ... This season be witchy. Be daring. Be wild. Be you. #autumnvibes #mabon #mabonblessings #yycautumn #nikitagill #holisticpelviccare #holisticpelvichealth #yycnaturopath #yycwomenshealth #pelvicpower #witchywoman

Get to know me Saturdays I learned how to ferment during the lockdown! I’m a big fan of authentic sauerkrauts - not heat treated - but lacked the confidence to take this on myself. I decided to just go for it and worst case scenario, I make more compost. ... But it actually worked! And tastes great! Worked so well that we needed to buy a mini-fridge to store my concoctions. Somedays life feels like a Portlandia skit - we can pickle that! #fermentation #fermentedfoods #fermentationyyc #pickles #yycfermentingmom #wecanpicklethat #yycfood

Yes! Know your own anatomy ladies. There’s a lot going on down there for sure. But you owe it to yourself to know what’s what! The vagina is the link into your body. It connects your uterus with the outside world. It’s where you’ll find your cervix. ... The vulva is external. It includes your labia and clitoris. Pretty important! I am not ready. I do not have it all together. I do not have every template or treatment plan figured out. I do not feel ready. But what if that doesn’t matter?... What if it’s all about starting exactly where you are? Starting with your creativity and seeing how it takes form. Maybe we don’t need to feel ready. Maybe we just need to show up and start. @marieforleo #yycwomenshealth #holisticpelviccare #yycentrepreneur #yycsmallbusiness #yycwomeninbusiness #yycwomen #mompreneur #mompreneurlife #entrepreneurmindset #entrepreneur

Birth & Postpartum Energy I’m writing an article all about postpartum hormone balance for an upcoming magazine edition. During my research I came across The Fourth Trimester by Kimberly Ann Johnson and what a gem. I know I’m probably late to the party on this one, but I love how she writes about the postpartum journey. I was so struck by these two photos, depicting the difference between birth and postpartum energy. ... Birth energy - like an hourglass, open to connection with universal energy, the earth, our ancestry, sense of safety and belonging. Postpartum energy - like a seedpod, learning to reconnect with our own sense of personal identity while being intimately connected to another individual. I find these photos so evocative of how to feels to birth and hold your baby on your chest. It also emphasizes the massive transition from pregnancy and birth to postpartum. #pelvichealth #pelvichealthmatters #yychealth #yycwomenshealth #wombhealing #wombwellness #yycwomen #naturopathicmedicine #pelvicpower #pelvicfloor #holisticpelviccare #holisticpelvichealth #naturalbirth #homebirth #magamamas #fourthtrimester

Get to Know Me Saturdays I just finished reading Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly and oh. my. goodness. I could not put this book down and stayed up way too late on several occasions. I love stories that take a well known tale and twist it - challenging us to look at the characters differently, questioning our own assumptions. If you’re a fan of the musical Wicked! you know exactly what I mean. ... Stepsister is a different take on Cinderella, from the perspective of Isabelle, one of the ugly stepsisters. The book starts where the fairy tale ends, with Cinderella heading off for her happily ever after, leaving her step-family behind. But what about that family? Were the stepsisters really so evil? Were they truly ugly? And what about their happily ever after? This book explores the connection between fate and chance, sisterhood, female empowerment and bravery in the face of intense evil. I wish that I had read this book when I was younger and it should be required reading for any 13 year old girl. Especially those who feel like they don’t fit the pretty slipper. Read. This. Book! #stepsisterbook #JenniferDonnelly #fairytale #cinderella #cinderellaretelling #bookworm #bookstagram #booknerd #keepyourshelfwarm
