It was exciting for the Youth Futures Education Fund to appear on CTV Morning Live Vancouver!
19-year-old Jodi is studying to be a social worker, so she can help other Indigenous former youth in care succeed in school and in life. Post-secondary education is costly along with tuition fees living expenses are almost $20K a year. Most youth have parents to support them financially and emotionally. Many former youth in care don’t have that option. Thanks to tuition waiver programs and the Youth Futures Education Fund, which helps students like Jodi cover things like rent, books and food, she is thriving and working toward her goal of being a role model for others. And, thanks to United Way of the Lower Mainland’s unprecedented donation of $350K more youth like Jodi than ever can fulfill their potential. For more info visit: https://youthfutures.ca/

It was a great event, demonstrating commitment to former youth in care and fueling our momentum in making post-secondary education a reality for them!
Wonderful news!! The government contributes $250,000 to help further the reach and impact of YFEF! We are working in partnership to assure all youth have equal educational opportunities!
A discouraging, but not surprising report. YFEF will continue work along the continuum of care and strive to assure that post-care youth have equal access to education and a better life.
