Today is #BellLetsTalk Day! Join the conversation and help raise awareness and end the stigma around mental health in Canada. No matter what you are going through, we want you to know that you are not alone. If you're struggling, we can offer a ear to listen or connect you to a resource to help you through a difficult time. Always remember that it is okay to not be okay and that we are here for you. ... #BellLetsTalkDay
We will be away for Christmas Holidays tomorrow and will be back on Tuesday, December 29th! Stay safe and Merry Christmas from all of us at Youth Street Outreach!
A HUGE thank-you to all of the local businesses that donated to our Youth this Christmas Season: - Rotary Club of Kamloops Aurora Centennial - Strength Camp Kamloops - South Kamloops Secondary School... - Kamloops Givers And THANK YOU to the many people who came in and dropped off treats, stocking stuffers and clothing for our youth! From all of us at Youth Street Outreach - Have a very Merry Christmas and Holiday Season!
We are OPEN tomorrow for our youth! Stop by, say hi and grab some Christmas goodies!
Youth Street Outreach received a much needed donation of clothes, bags and toiletries from Tricia Walsh. Thanks so much Tricia! The youth have already been going through them all. Both the team and all the youth appreciate your generosity!
Our staff are working away to prepare a Christmas dinner for our youth! Youth can stop by today from 2pm to 7pm and grab a dinner!
We are excited to announce our shower is complete and ready to use! If you are a youth in need of a shower, our shower is here for you, please see staff for more information on hours of operation and COVID safety protocols in place.
Huge thank you to Derek Pickford and his colleagues of Spread 5A who are working on the Trans Mountain Pipeline project locally. Derek has been the mastermind behind fundraising efforts for our community while they are here and today they donated $4000 for our Youth Street Outreach program! This money will support our work in identifying youth in our community who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness and helping our youth outreach staff to meet their basic needs, reduc...e barriers to access housing, employment, education, health and wellness services and family connection. As well, our services focus on reducing the harms associated with homelessness, substance use, poverty and trauma as we work collaboratively with our community partners to meet the needs of vulnerable youth in our community. Our Youth Street Outreach Drop in Center provides not only a safe place for youth to connect with outreach staff but we provide delicious meals prepared by our Mount Paul Community Food Centre, harm reduction supplies, shower and laundry services, location for the Youth STI clinics provided by Public Health Street Nurses, access to a computer, access to rental supplements, clothing and hyiene supplies to name a few! It also provides space for youth in our transitional housing program to connect with their housing support workers, participate in life skills education and complete their homework! To learn more about the work we do to prevent and end youth homelessness in our community follow us on Facebook or Instagram! Interior Community Services Trans Mountain
Hey all, Krista and Tanya will be at Youth Street Outreach until 2:00 today. It's pretty cold out so we will have the coffee on all day. We still have to follow Covid protocols but we have some warm clothes we can hand out!

Interior Community Services staff, management and Board of Directors send their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Katherine McParland, Executive Director of A Way Home Kamloops. She was brave and brilliant and will be missed.
