It would be simply amazing to hear jingle bells ringing across the city, from one neighbourhood to the next. Let’s do it, Lethbridge!

Something to plan over the winter months to start creating in the spring. Consider it an outdoor community art gallery. Something to bring joy to your neighbours and liven up the alley ways.

Do you know of an individual, business or group that breaks barriers to create a more open and accepting community for those with disabilities? Consider recognizing them for their amazing accomplishments and compassion.

We’re official!

YQL Neighbourhoods 10.09.2020

At our May gathering, our scheduled topic was neighbourhood garage sales. One thing we discussed was potentially coordinating a city-wide garage sale event in the autumn. Is this something everyone is interested in? We’re thinking of aiming for the September long weekend. Also, since Neighbour Day probably won’t happen next month, perhaps we can combine the two. Looking forward to your feedback.

YQL Neighbourhoods 22.08.2020

We hope you can join us to discuss ideas to plan for summer fun with your neighbours, while keeping with COVID-19 measures.

We asked and boy did you respond. We had over 1,400 residents take our recent community survey - Thanks Lethbridge! We wanted to check in and see how you were ...doing. We also wanted to know when you might be ready to start engaging on City of Lethbridge projects again. Your feed back was so valuable and appreciated. Calling all who can help!

YQL Neighbourhoods 02.07.2020

Hi everyone. I received this message from the Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge requesting that we share and take part in their Target Hunger campaign.... Some will recall that they attended a meeting earlier this year looking for our support. Please help out if you are able. Thanks! Tymm "Hello Local Media, Churches and Community Organizations! Please share the attached graphic on social media, websites, and newsletters/bulletins to help us inform your membership of the opportunity to participate with Target Hunger. We have already filled about a third of the routes for the City Wide Food Drive on June 13th, and we're seeing great interest from the community about getting involved in a safe, fun, and meaningful activity that will get them out of the house and supporting our community! We appreciate your support, and hope you can join us as well! Danielle"

So awesome that Glendale/Dieppe area was able to find a creative way to continue their Jane's Walk for this weekend. Be sure to join in!

We have partnered with the @AlliedArtsCouncil to continue the Neighbourhood Window Walk, but with an addition (plot twist). Now you can add your home to a map that guide neighbours to your art display, and the map can be viewed to find other gems across the community. Submit addresses to: https://bit.ly/NeighbourhoodArtForm Map will be available at: https://bit.ly/NeighbourhoodArtYQL... Please ensure the address includes street address, Lethbridge, AB. If the Lethbridge, AB isn't added correctly then map points can end up all over the US - thanks.

Please note, this information was updated on Thursday April 9 following new provincial closures. Today we closed additional City recreation amenities in an effo...rt to continue flattening the curve, to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and keep our community stay safe. This includes things like tennis courts, pickleball courts, disc golf and biking/skate parks. These are not easy decisions. We know everyone wants to be outside enjoying activities, but it is needed to get us through this a quickly and safely as possible. Please follow the regulations and #BeWellYQL. https://lethbridge.ca/NewsCe//Additional-Rec-Closures.aspx See more

With so much happening in relation to COVID-19 across the city, the province and the country, we know it can be hard to understand who is responsible for what. This graphic outlines which level of government has authority over which areas as we manage the pandemic response.

Upper Victoria Park Shine the Light Gratitude Campaign Good Evening Friends and Neighbours, We hope this e-mail finds you warm and well at home under these un...precedented global circumstances. As we all join in being compliant to Provincial and Federal announcements to help flatten the curve we realize that the Lethbridge Regional Hospital and health-care workers across the province are preparing for COVID-19. Upper Victoria Park is a beautiful neighbourhood and the LRH is situated on the south boundary. Tonight, and going forward into the spring, we ask you to join us in a Shine the Light show of gratitude for the front-line staff at the hospital. For the paramedics, the lab technicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, custodians, doctors and many more who are likely facing the most challenging days of their careers. We recognize that Alberta Health Services is leading COVID-19 testing numbers in North America, testing approximately 1,000 people per day. The on-line self-assessment tool was developed by AHS staff in an effort to support the 811 operators’ call volume, and then shared with other provincial health authorities across Canada. We see that some of our physicians published a message of safety in the Lethbridge Herald. Let’s tip our hat to the good work of the front-line staff at the LRH, we will officially invite them to enjoy this gift of light. If your December lights are still on your house, balcony or in your front-yard spruce, we invite you to flip-the-switch. starting tonight. This ask is inspired by the moving efforts of folks in Spain and Italy to support each-other and show gratitude to their health-care workers. In UVP we don’t necessarily live close enough to sing Opera on our balconies, play musical instruments or sing the national anthem for many to hear and enjoy, we tend to live a bit farther apart. But we could Shine the Light. With directions to stay home, we might even find ourselves hanging lights as the snow melts to keep busy during this time. We also want to Shine the Light on the many other folks keeping things moving at this moment in history. We also tip our hats to the local merchants, stocking their shelves with groceries, the pharmacist, truck drivers, gas stations attendants, and the City of Lethbridge workers looking after our essential services. Shine the Light UVP.shine it and recognize your neighbour, the Hood and yourself for showing that even in this time of uncertainty we can have clean-hands, calm-minds and warmhearts and still be connected. Wishing you all peace and safety, Upper Victoria Park Neighbourhood Association Board Lethbridge, AB

YQL Neighbourhoods 23.11.2019

We could all use a buddy right now. Especially one that lives next door - how convenient would that be. Here's a really cool idea to help our neighbours in this time of need.

YQL Neighbourhoods 11.11.2019

Jane’s Walk events are still a go, but with a twist. Organizers are asked to get creative and provide a virtual tour of sorts. Some resources found at this link, with more to come.

YQL Neighbourhoods 25.10.2019

We have received a lot of interest in our post with the Neighbourhood Window Walk. We would like to offer more great resources for neighbours to do while social distancing. If you have any suggestions, please post them here and we can circulate them. We will also be developing more resources to share.

YQL Neighbourhoods 05.10.2019

As our neighbours are isolating themselves and social distancing and requiring support, here is a lovely community of people willing to help.

YQL Neighbourhoods 02.10.2019

In our March online gathering meeting, someone suggested that if people still have their Christmas lights still up to maybe turn them on at night as a way to lift spirits for people driving by. If you see Christmas lights while you’re out, maybe post in the comments where they were located. What a great idea!

YQL Neighbourhoods 19.09.2019

We've just started the presentation on Jane's Walk by Genesis Hevia Orio has just started. There is still time to join us via Zoom (online).

YQL Neighbourhoods 06.09.2019

A cool way neighbours have been engaging in community while keeping social distance is through what's been tagged as a "Neighbourhood Window Walk" - so we thought we'd provide a resource to keep this fun going. This past week people put shamrocks in their windows for neighbours to cruise the neighbourhood to see how many they could find. We've come up with a list of other things you can put in your window over the next six weeks. We tried to build some kind of theme around each one, but feel free to change this up and make something for your own community. Most importantly, have fun and stay well!

YQL Neighbourhoods 02.09.2019

Our gathering scheduled for this evening will still occur via Zoom.
