Single-use masks, gloves and wipes are not recyclable and must be removed by hand by staff at our waste facility. This is not safe for anyone. Please put these ...items in a wastebasket lined with a plastic bag. When full, tie your plastic bag and place in your garbage. Securely tie all your garbage bags before placing them at the curb. Bag it. Tie it. Pitch it. Learn what goes where at york.ca/waste #yrwaste #ppe #bluebox

#ThanksTransit As a Facilities Inspector, Peter has been working at the office and in the field since the beginning of COVID-19. He performs regular inspections at our terminals and bus stops to ensure that a safe and clean environment is available to all York Region travellers. He also visits our conventional bus stops to perform an annual inspection of their condition. On top of these responsibilities, Peter helps resolve Facilities related concerns that are submitted to us by riders. Thank you, Peter and all of our Facilities maintenance staff for demonstrating the #SpiritOfYR!

Now back on-street at our terminals, Hamsa assists customers with trip plans, fare purchases, route information and PRESTO related questions. Thank you, Hamsa, and all of our Customer Service staff for demonstrating the #SpiritOfYR!

Physical, clear barriers are being installed around the driver's seat on all YRT and Viva buses, creating enough space between drivers and travellers to permit physical distancing. Wearing a non-medical face mask or covering on public transit is mandatory; however, when the barrier is closed it gives the driver the option to remove their face mask or covering. For more information, please visit yrt.ca/covid19.
