The O5PBA held its AGM meeting via a Zoom Video Conference for the first time in our Association history. The AGM ran from 9:00am to 5:00pm, over-all was well ...received by those who participated either as a delegate or invited guest. Originally this meeting would have taken place in the mid June timeframe, but due to COVID-19 was postponed until a later date. With the option of holding a normal face to face meeting not available, the Board of Directors went with a Zoom video conference call that had upwards of 60 registered participants, as well as others who listened in from those who were registered for the meeting. All Directors delivered their respective reports and questions were asked where required by the delegates in attendance. Some of the motions that did not have an impact on the current 2020/21 season were tabled to the 2021 Annual Meeting in June. The draft minutes of the meeting will be posted as soon as the O5PBA Secretary can get them transcribed. There were 4 spots available for election to the Board of Directors, two of the three incumbents allowed their names to stand for election and 1 name was nominated from the field, with the nominations closing, the three where acclaimed to three year terms, leaving one vacancy on the Board of Directors that the new Board will look to appoint a person to fill during the next month or two. Congratulations to Neil Anderson, Brenda Hamilton and John Cresswell on their new 3 year terms on the O5PBA Board of Directors. If anyone was offended by my closing comments, my apologies, the comments were in jest to an ongoing inside joke between Terry, Chris and myself. It was not meant to offend anyone and if someone was offended, once again, my sincere apologies. In closing, we want to wish Terry Farrell all the best in her future endeavours, as she decided to not run for the Board. This will allow her more time to focus on her family and working with her local association. Please stay safe, take care of those around you and go bowling whenever you can. Hopefully, we see you on the lanes in the near future!

At our Annual General Meeting last night, we discussed the status of the Fredrick Andersen autographed jersey. Tickets will still be available until November 30, 2020. We will be doing a live draw Monday December 7, 2020.

The York Simcoe Hall of Fame Committee met back in January meeting to discuss a new nomination in the Bowlers Division. We are excited to announce our newest inductee, Cathy Davidson-Lamontage! While many of her accomplishments were with Northern Ontario, she continued to qualify on many Open teams under the York Simcoe banner. Cathy has qualified on nine ladies teams, five as a single representative and four mixed teams. Cathy has also been a member of the Master Bowlers’ Association for seventeen years with a lifetime average of 237. On behalf of the York Simcoe Board of Directors, we congratulate Cathy on her selection and welcome her into the York Simcoe Hall of Fame.

Our Annual General Meeting to wrap up the 2019/2020 season took place tonight. With all the uncertainty and stressful times going on, we wanted to have a little bit of fun. What better way, then to celebrate Halloween? Thank you to everyone who attended, along with our Board of Directors, Committee Members, League and DC Reps! Heres to a healthy and safe 2020/2021 season!
