In light of the email that has been sent by church HQ (linked below), we have been counselled by our local stake presidency to cancel/postpone the Victoria YSA Conference this weekend. This is obviously sad news considering the plans many of you have made to be with us this weekend and all the work that has gone into making it happen. Our primary concern is for all of the members of our stake who are coming to help make it happen and their familiesincluding the elderly who... are at high risk for the virus. We thank you for your understanding and will keep you updated on if/when we will be rescheduling to. Stay safe and be responsible as we work together to protect our communities. The journey to destroy the ring in Mount Doom wasn't completed in a single day. We will return once COVID-19 has been conquered, but it will take the whole fellowship to do so! ;)

If anyone is needing a ride to the ferry terminal for this weekend’s YSA Conference and you can coordinate getting to the Surrey Stake Centre same time as everyone, I have a van that holds 7 adults (besides myself) that I can drive you to the terminal. One trip only so you need to find a common time that everyone needing a ride can meet at.

Hey everyone! There's no YSA conference in Fraser Valley (May) or in the Okanagan (August) this year. Instead we have exciting direction from Elder Cook that the North America West Area (NAWA283 stakes from Hawaii down to California) that we are to organize by Temple District (ours is across all of BC) a conference for all Single adults (18+) in Vancouver on August 7-9. (And I don't have to plan it!) On that weekend there will be 2 simultaneous conferences. One for 18-3...0 and the other 31+. (Other temple districts in the USA with more people are doing three age groups: 18-25, 26-39, and 40+ but if you're 26 and older you can choose which one you want to go to.) In preparation for this historic event, we have a kick-off Fireside Sunday April 19th and 16 weeks of pre-conference activities for all singles across our stake (and maybe joint with Nanaimo at times) that will be announced at that fireside. Activities will include missionary, service and social activities! We hope it will be a strengthening endeavor that will unify our stake and help us prepare spiritually for the conference.

Our next activity will be dinner and a movie on March 1st at 6pm. Please let us know if you will be coming so we have enough food for everyone :) If you need the address or a ride just ask!!

This coming Sunday Feb 10th Keith and I will be going to the YSA branch for their services. If anyone would like a ride please let us know by Saturday evening so we can plan the route!

There will be FHE this Sunday for S3 members but it is open to all YSA’s. I do need to make sure that I have enough food as it is Fast Sunday so everyone will be starving. So our home in Surrey Sunday night 6pm . Please RSVP by Saturday night if you plan on coming. Bring a friend. Bring 2. Very casual.

As it is Fast Sunday this coming Sunday that means Dinner and a movie BUT because it’s holiday season we thought we would have a festive dinner which means if you plan on coming you have to let us know by this Friday so I can make sure everyone has enough food!
