From all of us at #MEDYSP, we would like to thank our students for being part of this unique learning experience! We are so proud of our students for consistently showing dedication and enthusiasm for science and powering through our tough lectures. We hope that you stay connected with us and that some of you can join us again next year. Thank you to our University of Toronto academic leads, guest lecturers, and industry professionals who helped us deliver engaging modules and talked about their career journey to inspire students on how diverse the health care/medicine industry can be. ... and just like that we wrapped up another week of Online #MedYSP2020! This week we learned about Microbiology and Genetics. Here's a little sneak peek of our mornings. During virtual arrival, as everyone settles in before the lecture, we recap our highlights from the previous days while sharing what we had for breakfast! Our students had a packed week of virtual and at-home labs. They built 3D models of DNA, extracted their own DNA, and created pedigree charts of their fam...ilies. Talk about getting up close and personal with yourself! Thanks to our students Sunaina, Erum, and Ella for sharing their awesome DNA models (as seen in the last photo). We're excited to dive into Pharmacology and Toxicology next week!

It's been a busy start to the week for our students in the physiology module. We've had two phenomenal lectures from Dr. Christine Wong (U of T faculty member) and Dr. Ali Ibrahim (physician from the University Health Network). Students had the chance to perform virtual labs on topics such as Hematology and Renal Physiology. ... We wrap up each day with a community building session which allows our students to get to know their peers and learn more about university life from our instructors. --- Registration is still open for our other modules! Our team is working hard to transform our online modules to emulate the day-to-day life of university students. YSP students will learn in real time: they will attend scheduled lectures, perform virtual labs, and receive support from our teaching staff.
