Quest for the Crown 23.11.2020

When I ran last year for QFTC, I was excited to be part of something that meant so much to the community. Rendezvous is for everyone. It brings people together and allows for a bit of respite from the cold, long winter. This year, through a pandemic, the Board and Staff have worked hard to keep the Festival going and give it a rebrand to keep it fresh. Anyone who has served on a board or staff can expect a thankless job, but abuse is unacceptable. I understand the desire to ...hold onto tradition and the feelings associated with a sense of loss but to threaten and harass does nothing for our community and only futher tarnishes the idea you’re clinging to. None of these changes exclude people from participating. But they do make efforts to help more people feel more included. If you feel strongly that something has been lost, make a positive move to change things. Join the Board, volunteer at the Festival and make suggestions, pitch an event that captures the essence of Sourdough, so that we can move forward collectively. Hate and vitriol will not undo the changes, it will only divide us and dampen a Festival that is meant to inspire and refresh spirits. So please, I urge you, keep your difference of opinion respectful and let’s move forward to bring some fun and light to 2021! See more
