Yukon is seeking feedback on the draft Creative and Cultural Industries Strategy. This draft strategy for supporting the creative and cultural industries is the first of its kind for Yukon, presenting 22 specific actions under four strategic objectives: stimulate growth, focusing policies, developing programs and services, strengthening connections and fostering knowledge. Yukon Film Society has announced the sixth annual ALFF Pitch Event. The event will be held virtually on Tuesday February 9 in Whitehorse. Six teams will have 5 minutes each to pitch their ideas for short, one-off documentaries and fiction productions. The winning team will receive $5000 cash and in-kind production services towards the production of their film. The ALFF Pitch Event is part of the Available Light Film Festival and is supported by Northwestel Community Television and Yukon Film Society. The Department of Economic Development is seeking feedback on proposed changes to Yukon’s sound recording fund. The changes are intended to modernize the fund to better serve the needs of Yukon’s music industry.
