ADF&G recently relaxed fishing regulations in 5D lower, allowing for subsistence fishers to harvest coho and freshwater fish. As fall chum migrate through the Alaskan section of the Yukon River, the gear (4" mesh or smaller) restrictions implemented to protect fall chum will also be lifted. #yukonsalmon

The sockeye run on the Alsek/Tatshenshini is almost complete and the run is well below the Klukshu spawning escapement goal of 7,500 to 11,000. Klukshu weir sockeye count: 4,234. Some great research for #yukonsalmon. It is predicting less Chinook in 2021 and even less in 2022. This gives us a lot of time to prepare and can be a valuable tool for salmon managers.
