Happy Hanukkah!

Kelowna update and being Jewish. Baby Aa started talking about Christmas about week ago... It’s been almost three months away from my Jewish community and my family, and it hit me hard.. I am not being Jewish. I have been involved in Jewish community pretty much all my life, even in soviet Russia I went to Sunday Jewish school, Jewish camp and I screamed at the top of my lungs about my Jewishness to everyone on the street, literally...it was so easy being Jewish surrounded ...by it. But what I forgot to do is to create my own personal Jewish practice.. so when I’m left swimming in the middle of the ocean with no one around, I can still . Be. Jewish. So now at 39 yo I need to learn to be Jewish. Without community, and without family nearby. For myself. And for baby Aa. So.. here is to the begginin for my own Jewish practice. Any advice, tips, hints, may be there is a Jewish survival guide book/ website I can read? Please ! Throw it to me! See more

First snow today in Kelowna. Baby Aa is so excited. I can’t believe we came here in the summer and went to beaches pantless and now it’s snowing, and we are still here.

Still roaming around British Columbia. Our short getaway turned into an extended vacation. I finished all my commissions and today for the first time in super forever, I took photos of random things just for fun, for myself, for no particular purpose but joy. And now I’m rethinking my next direction in art, feeling a little space .. like something has gone and a new idea has not been born yet. I think I will do a little more roaming, take some more pictures.. and see what happens.
