Detail: Advent is just about here, and Christmas will soon follow . Let’s Decorate! Join long-time volunteer and friend of Queen’s House, Alice Zimmer, in this creative activity. Come to Queen’s House for a time of fellowship where we will use the bounty of greenery at the retreat centre to make beautiful winter arrangements to decorate the front steps of your homes. Alice will have tree boughs cut and ready to use and will assist in giving you some pointers. You will need to bring your own planter with potting soil. Using your summer planters will work very well. We also invite you to go through your Christmas supplies and bring items along to add color and beauty to your arrangement. Ribbon, decorations, berry branches, lights all will assist you to create a beautiful planter as a gift for yourself or someone else. This activity will be held outside Dress Warmly and let’s have some fun together! Please note: washroom facilities will be available during this outdoor activity, and the event will end with some hot refreshments to warm you up after this time of creativity. Presenter: Alice Zimmer is a volunteer at Queen’s House Retreat & Renewal Centre, decorating both the chapel and the retreat centre for the different liturgical seasons of the year. She also plants the flowerpots and planters on Queen’s House grounds during the spring and summer months.
