With the current heightened precautions, most retailers are banning reusable bags from their stores, a staple for most (if not all) eco-minded individuals. Some businesses in #yxe are offering paper bags, which some argue are better for disposing, but they are still single use (in that you can't bring them back in to the store). Either way, with the surge in consumption of both varieties, what is everyone doing with the extra bags? The landfill can't be the place, obviously. ... Retailers such as London Drugs and Superstore, take them for recycling normally, but my local @ld_saskatoon won't accept them at the moment (totally understandable) and I am always worried about the contamination factor at @realcanadiansuperstore based on the bin always having garbage mixed in with it.
