However, With over 35 years in Calgary, DC Dance Club is not going away. We are rising to meet the challenges ahead. With continued support from our dance community, we expanded beyond our regular Latin & Ballroom Socials to Latino Fridays, and Swing/Country dances on Sundays. We will continue with our great new classes, weekend socials, more Showcases, competitions and so much more for our wonderful DC family. We look forward to hiring additional fabulous professional instructors, and with your support we will succeed. We are keeping the Christmas Spirit alive at DC!! With the help of Jullie and Angela, we set out to do a tiny bit of decorating at the studio. Then Miro got involved... Then we were having so much fun we just did a little bit more! Well, a bit led to a lot and we now have three beautiful displays that our plan is to leave up in the new year to celebrate Christmas and the New Year and maybe a winter showcase just got extended to 2021, ;o). We are looking forward to a strong restart and new growth in 2021. Alberta Health Services has recommended that DC maintain a membership roster as their concerns included limiting attendance to a known cohort and facilitating contact tracing if so required. We will of course, continue to work diligently to ensure your safety. To meet your needs, we have developed several membership options; there is something for everyone with great price points. Reservations only We had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Hinshaw and Arts Minister Aheer to discuss the opening of the dance club and how to safely proceed forward. We are pleased with the Alberta Governments decision to open dance and other sports facilities for Calgarys mental and physical health. If you are sick please stay home We will be adding to our cleaning protocols; prior to entrance please wash your hands with soap and water and constantly through-out the evening Please designate a pair of indoor dance shoes to DC Dance Club, or clean your shoes each time at home prior to coming to the studio, No outdoor shoes or sock feet permitted inside the studio Please stagger entrance and exit from studio as well as staircase Touchless Temperatures will be taken prior to entrance Due to physical distancing, coat room will limited; designate one person in your cohort group to put coats away and pick up, please keep your personal belongings at your seat during a dance. 50 people in the full open ballroom, maximum 2-6 people to a table, bar style seats are available at appropriate physical distancing, in your specific bubble group you may dance but please keep the distance between cohort bubble groups Shared beverages/food are not allowed, coffee/tea/munchies will not be available at this time, bar drinks are available the lounge area is also available to enjoy a drink, no outside food or drink permitted in the studio. DC is a licensed facility with a full service bar, see DC bartenders for your drinks. Items that must be shared or passed between individuals should be cleaned and disinfected at an increased frequency. Refrain from touching your face, sanitize your hands frequently. We ask you to refrain from switching partners and stay within your Bubble Group (Bubble groups are your specific circle of friends and those that are specific to your group/private dance classes). All dancers, instructors, and staff who are not part of the same cohort (private class bubble) should maintain at least two metres distance from each other at all times (unless they are part of the same household). DC instructors will not be socially/physically dancing except in their bubble designated groups.
