Canadian grown Cantaloupe are finally here! Cantaloupe 101 The dirt: Cantaloupes only started growing in Canada less than 20 years ago, on the old tobacco fields. Originally only muskmelons could be grown. Now California varieties can be grown here.... The Taste: Ripe cantaloupes will be tender and have a sweet taste. Slightly overripe cantaloupe is even more flavorful and sweet like candy. Storing: Cantaloupe prefer to be refrigerated. Once it is cut, we suggest draping a wet paper towel over the melon to prevent it from drying out while in the fridge. Prepping: Rinse the melon with cold water and wash with mild soap. Afterwards, rinse the soap off and pat dry with paper towels. Cooking :You can enjoy your Cantaloupe as small cubes, add it to Fruit salads or Smoothies. Make jams. Cantaloupe juice popsicles are a great hit and kids love it!

The Corn of festivities is here!! Sweet corn is a festive vegetable that is eaten as often on its own as it is with a meal. The corn is cultivated in the morning and transported same-day in a chilled environment to ensure the freshness is conserved. Corn can be stored in the fridge up to a week, when it is kept in the husk. Once the leaves are removed it may only last 3 days.... Boiling corn in water is the most popular cooking method, in just 10 minutes it is ready to eat. Grilled corn is becoming popular too, leaving the leaves on the corn and putting it on the grill for 10 minutes offers a great eat. Finally, the method the least known, but in our opinion the most savory: the microwave. Only 3 minutes in the microwave, without removing the husks, and it becomes even sweeter.
