When it comes to Feng Shui, the front door is of utmost importance as it is the gateway for all the good energy (or Chi) to come into your house. So why wouldn’t you enhance this area??? Choosing the right color is one of the easiest/major factors, (feng shui-wise), that can help strengthen the good vibes needed for your specific front door. . To improve the Feng Shui of your front door you need to find the appropriate feng shui colors, shape or material that attracts good ...chi. This is done by nourishing the feng shui element that corresponds to the direction your front door is facing. . A South facing door, such as mine, is a door with the compass reading from 157.5 to 202.5. This was easily calculated by standing at my front door looking out and using my iPhone’s compass. As you can see if you swipe through my photos, my front door is as about as South facing as they come at 178 degrees south. . The feng shui element of the South direction is Fire, and the corresponding feng shui Bagua energy is the energy of Fame & Reputation. . This means that for best feng shui, you should focus on nourishing the Fire feng shui energy with your door decor. This also means that it is good to express, in subtle ways, the energy of fame and reputation in ways that feel appropriate to you. . To sum it up for you, best feng shui colors for a South facing front door are (in order of their auspiciousness): red, purple, strong yellow, deep orange, deep pink, green and brown colors. Obviously a wooden door is also an exceptional choice when it comes to nourishing the fire element, it is just a more expensive option. . Although a wooden door would have been my first choice, given the color of my house, I felt that painting the door yellow was my best (most affordable) option, when it came to this DIY project as all it required was a little effort and some paint. Happy Wednesday Everyone! For as long as I can remember, I have always been curious about the principles of #FengShui. . What I find even more fascinating is the more that I learn, the more I see that I have always intuitively incorporated these principles into my designs. . In a nutshell, Feng Shui uses a Bagua (Energy) Map to determine the best way to activate certain areas in order to attract positive outcomes.... . Bagua is based on the compass directions, and specific areas of the home need specific attention in order to energize that area. . The same principles apply on the exterior of your home as well, so if you are looking to increase the positive vibes flowing in and around your home, using the Bagua Map in your garden is a perfect place to start. . So grab your iPhone compass and start navigating your outdoor space accordingly! I’ve included a Photo of a Bagua Map that I found online from Open Spaces Feng Shui for your reference and will be sharing my backyard transformation with you. .
