Loved reading this article this morning. This talks about the real secret to health and vitality : to keep it moving. This is why I trained in yoga and massage and finally acupuncture as well. Each modality uses the principal of movement. Circulation is our body's only way of getting freshly oxygenated blood and nutrition to all of our tissues. We also need our breath as well as our other forms of Qi to be in constant motion as well, not only to help 'push' the blood, but a...lso to help us detox and make space for that new nutrition. Stagnation, in Chinese medicine, is the main cause of pain. This can be stagnation of blood, Qi/energy, and even emotions. When there is a stagnation of any sort, it takes up that valuable space where the fresh nutrition would be able to pass through to nourish the body.
