In my law court practice, I have seen some people wanting to accept the guilt (even when they are innocent) without fighting the case ( of course fighting a case could even mean waste of money and time , ...hassle and sometimes even result in a higher penalty). However, if you are unfairly charged or framed, think twice before telling your lawyer that you want the easy way out( accepting the guilty for a lesser or same charge , pay a penalty and go home). By accepting guilt, you become an OFFENDER, and that could well mean the end of your overseas migration/tourism/study dream. Also, those who are already overseas, if found guilty for DUI ( Driving Under the Influence), it could mean in certain circumstances even deportation. Stay clean is what you should do. However, if you are unfairly charged or framed, better fight it out and your chances of winning the case is high as most of the time police cannot prove such charges in courts. In short, do not do wrong and do not accept wrong if innocent. Either way, your life could be doomed, especially in terms of immigration opportunities. Unfortunately, police in most developing countries, are not well equipped with the knowledge and the technology to collect evidence properly to prove a charge in a court( beyond reasonable doubt).
