Dear friends, We wish you and your loved ones a holiday season filled with love and joy, however smaller and different the celebrations may be this year. And as we enter the holidays into a second shutdown, we are reflecting on this rollercoaster of a year we’ve had.... In the spring, we were nervous, uncertain about everything. It was a year of staying glued to the news, wearing cloth masks, standing behind plexiglass, standing 6 feet apart, sanitizing our hands and cleaning frequently touched surfaces. It was a year of worrying about our families and not being able to visit them. The year we lost our sweet pup Carter. And yet, we feel grateful we made it to this point. We are grateful for all the people who are working to keep our pantries full and our families healthy. We are in the fortunate position to be able to isolate securely in our homes because of them. We are grateful to all of you! For being cheerful and smiling behind your masks. You kept our spirits up! Thank you for following our covid-19 rules. For waiting outside a moment when our store was at capacity. Thank you for bringing a little bit of Zest into your homes! For your purchases, your curb-side pick-ups, and your online orders. So I did a thinga couple weeks ago I added a few of these Tru Earth eco-strips to an order with some other items to try out. Turns out, I ordered a couple cases by accident! I wasnt really sure about putting them in the shop. I mean were a kitchen shop right? But quite a few customers have been asking if we sold these strips so I thought I would check them out. Each Tru Earth eco-strip is a tiny (2x4), pre-measured strip of laundry detergent that you can just toss in ...the wash. When I opened the "Fresh Linen scent" package I was really concerned about the strong scent. I dont do well with scents. But after doing a few loads, I am really pleased. We tried loads with warm water and cold water. Because the detergent is so concentrated, the scent dissipates in your wash. And the result is fresh, clean laundry with a nice, light scent. There is also a scent free version (but I dont have any of those right now). . Best of all, it so earth friendly. Each package has enough strips to do 32 loads of laundry which is equivalent to the amount of laundry you can do from a large plastic bottle of detergent! For a small load, you use half a strip. The packaging is compostable (no more plastic!) and there is no measuring or mess. It is perfectly safe for septic tanks and works in all washing machines including high efficiency, front loaders or top loaders. And Tru Earth is certified paraben-free, phosphate-free, free of dyes and bleach, biodegradable in accordance with OECD 310D, and vegan (no animal based ingredients or animal testing). Kyle's knife sharpening service is back! We are taking extra steps to keep things sanitized. Your knives go in a plastic bin when you drop them off.
