FOUND BIRD: Bird found in the Athens area. He is very friendly and comfortable around people! We believe he is a pet so we have got him in a cage and we would love to get him back to his owner(s)! BLAIR’S BARBER SHOP FIRE VICTIMS FUND Monetary Donations being accepted at the Athens Township Office. (1 Main St. E., Athens, ON) Monday to Friday between 8:30am Noon and 1pm 4pm On Feb. 29th, 2016 Bernie Barber and his Wife, Cindy Nolan lost not only their home but everything they owned in this horrible fire, including their cat. Unfortunately, they were in the process of finding a new Insurer for their tenant insurance and have no coverage for the loss of their c...ontents. People have been asking about a fund raiser (a dance) to assist Bernie and Cindy in replacing their household items. They would not want to be in the limelight that this would entail. Neither would they accept help willingly but they are in need at this time. Therefore, The Township of Athens Office will be happy to accept any monetary donations that people would like to make. Blair and Brenda have insurance on the Barber Shop and should be okay when it is all settled. Blair hopes to reopen in the near future. Thanks to everyone who has helped and continues to offer support to Bernie, Cindy, Blair and Brenda at this time. Our Community is a Blessing and it’s very heartwarming to see how we all come together in the face of tragedy. This is why Athens and Area is such a great place to live.
