Every year Crowsnest Pass Fire Rescue, and other allied agencies, hold a Charity Check Stop to help raise funds for the food bank during the holiday season. Due to COVID - 19 it is not possible for us to hold this event, so we have decided to use this as an opportunity to set up a Virtual Check Stop. Starting December 10 - December 13 through the below fundraiser page the Crowsnest Pass Food Bank has created, you all have the opportunity to donate as little or as much as you’d like. Burn, baby, burn! This week Crowsnest Pass Fire Rescue members discussed fire dynamics and fire behaviour utilizing a four-compartment Palmer’s Box (also referred to as a dollhouse). The dollhouse provides a visual aid for firefighters, demonstrating fire dynamics, fire behaviour, and the effects of ventilation. It also provides firefighters with the opportunity to practice reading smoke, predict backdrafts and flashovers, and discuss structural firefighting tactics.
